It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I mentioned it only because most of us, myself included, ass-umed that we would see the proverbial 2nd-Year Leap from him; in fact I recall posting before TC that Mac was the least of my worries on offense... Turns out I should've been more worried about him than I was then... Not as much as I already was about the OL, WRs & almost the Entire offensive coaching staff, but more worried nonetheless.
I thought they lost that game due to the Lateral Fest at the end of the game.Yeah, the Raiders game was the bottom for me. Mac looked so bad I had to rethink my support. After that Mac only got better and started to look like a QB prospect. The coaching sucked, the OL sucked, but Mac does not get a pass from me either. As I posted previously, I am hopeful that Mac hit rock bottom after that performance against the Raiders, he grew to know that the hissy fits had to stop, and he had to act professional to be a professional. If he did pick himself up, that will make him feel good about himself and help to avoid all of that nonsense going forward.
Look on the bright side - the coaching can be fixed quickly and restart in 2023. The OL can be fixed fairly quickly (since we have draft picks and cap room) and restart in 2023. If Mac crashes, it is years to restart unless we sign JG or some other mid-level guy. I am hopeful Mac is better than JG and Cousins, I think few are as hopeful as me, but Mac has the intelligence, sees the field well, and is very accurate. Mac could develop over 2 to 3 years transforming his body and getting his motion consistent. He will never have a J Allen type of rocket arm, but I am not convinced he needs that.
Never said it did but he has to interview minority candidates before he can select a DC.The Rooney rule doesn't require that BB hire a minority DC.
In fairness to O'Brien, Saban requires his coordinators to run his system and not their own and O'Brien had to be taught the system (a lot by Mac Jones). So this may not be a system O'Brien is comfortable running.
If he is hired by the Pats, he will be able to run his system, not Bama's
I suppose, first we might decide whether he was a good quarterbacks coach. Did our QB improve under his direction? That was his JOB.
Well ONE change I hope will happen this off season will be Judge going back to being in charge of ST's where he thrived for us in the past.Judge SUCKED as the QB coach. Mac regressed in many areas. No, the O-line didn't help matters. But I don't think it's a coincidence that Daniel Jones got better with Daboll (a excellent Offensive minded coach) than he did with Judge as the HC with his nose in the offense.
Would Mayo not count as a minority?Never said it did but he has to interview minority candidates before he can select a DC.

The only leap you will see from Patricia is into the buffet table.I'm hoping to see a second year leap from Patricia next year.
after all of this, one thing can be stated clearly - JMD was a very good OC.
His offense with a rookie QB and a lot of new teammates was much better than the same team and 2nd QB with a "coach who coaches".
Yup. Who knew. It's almost like offense is hard and shouldn't be left to 2 bozos learning on the job.
Any chance Kraft creates some new positions head coach of offense for Obrein head coach for defense for Mayo and pay them both like head coaches?I'd probably be fine with any of the candidates mentioned.
I wonder if BOB has head-coaching aspirations after going back to NFL as OC? Seems we have a problem with losing coaching talent to other teams. Would be nice to have some stability... I guess same can be said for nearly anyone we bring in to be OC.
do you need to change title to pay more? I dont think there is a pay scale on OC/DC positions. Couldnt they just pay them like HC and keep OC/DC titles?Any chance Kraft creates some new positions head coach of offense for Obrein head coach for defense for Mayo and pay them both like head coaches?
For these guys titles mean something.do you need to change title to pay more? I dont think there is a pay scale on OC/DC positions. Couldnt they just pay them like HC and keep OC/DC titles?
Yeah keep Judge away from the Jone's.Judge SUCKED as the QB coach. Mac regressed in many areas. No, the O-line didn't help matters. Quarterback is arguably one of the most talented in the whole league, better skill position players, warm weather, and a decent chance you are at least the interim head coach and auditioning for the job by Halloween.Agreed…that job comes with a lot of solid ingredients to cook with.
Can confirm...Just heard on the radio. The Pats have requested permission to speak to Keenan McCardell of the Vikings for OC.
