I don’t think they were doing it regardless tbh. If Purdy s.hit himself today then they almost have to go with Lance because if they don’t absolutely everything they’ve done to this point was a waste. Jobs and egos are at stake.

I think Purdy is evidence that getting Jimmy G back on this team isn't going to fix everything like some people here suggest. The 49ers have weapons and scheme galore where you can fit Mr. Irrelevant who is wildly inconsistent and still have a juggernaut offense.
