Jerod Mayo Interviewing For Browns DC Job

What other team fails to name official DC or OC? Only the Patriots. Not sure why people think that's some genius move. It's just so bill can avoid the "Rooney rule"
The 49ers don’t have an OC. The Texans didn’t have a DC. The Saints have co-DCs, a title that Mayo was allegedly offered but turned down.

Curran: "It would be mind blowing if Bill lets him walk".

Losing Jerod hurts. I never liked the look of having your son as the DC. Jerod has a natural credibility that players can't mess with. This one is going to hurt.
Imagine if you could easily keep him but chose not to?

At this point I fully expect Jarod Mayo to be promoted to OC and Matt Patricia will take his spot if the defensive side.

PS: Just joking ;-)

I think Mayo will be named DC of the Patriots for 2023 and will move on to HC of another team in 2025. At that point Steve will be named DC.

I feel like Mayo is gone and the coaching talent drain continues. The exodus of good coaches from NE the past five or so years is unreal. So bad for the franchise.

This doesn’t look like a valid job opportunity for Mayo. It’s either going to Wilks (DC/interim HC) or one of the seven offensive candidates they’ve interviewed or requested.

He'll absolutely be named an Official DC in 2023, here or elsewhere (bet some of your disposable income on Elsewhere).

As for being named a HC in 2023, bet the same amount Against it.

I don't know Bill well enough to say "no chance" ... but ok.
My working assumption is his son is calling the plays (what everyone seems to think). Naming Mayo DC would essentially be demoting his son - therefore no chance.
