Report: Mac was reaching out to other coaches about his frustrations with the offense

I think it's certainly relevant to whether or not not Jones stays on the team for the duration of his rookie deal. A mediocre QB has significantly less leash than the greatest QB of all time, who you brought up as a (poor) comparison.

You were calling it a maturity issue:

lot of red flags exposing Mac's lack of maturity are starting to show

Let's not go moving the goalposts now. I didn't weigh in on any leash length.

This was the first time I was concerned with him. I know it was just his 3rd game but you're a 1st round QB for the New England F*cking Patriots. There's no crying in football.

Trade Mack for a first. Bring in Brady, Zappe back up. Use one of the firsts for a qb. The plan is finally coming together.

Can't Mac just call someone he respects and who knows the team and personalities involved just to vent and get some perspective?
He should've called his Momma.

I'm not following your point, it is a maturity issue. You are the one that brought up that Tom did similar things. Mac isn't Tom so this little maturity issue, if real, will impact them entirely differently. Just a poor comparison on your part, no big deal.

If true this is bad, if its true that is McDaniels, is that even legal according the rules, doesn't fall into, what's the name, when players/coaches have illegal communication like in the Brady/Dolphins thing?

I think this is still salvageable but between playing and attitudes he's on strike 2, he needs to man up and get some maturity, come on man you're making millions to play a game, you're not winning everytime, sometimes you just have to shut up and swallow your fcing pride/ego.

That said that's what happens when you bring a bozo with no background to run your offense.

Seriously though, if this thing with Mac really goes south then it does open up a greater possibility of Brady returning to New England. For a couple of seasons. Brady may have better options frankly so it's possible he won't give it too much consideration. Bill probably wouldn't want the impression of him have to put his tail between his legs. Kraft should love the idea. As should Patriots fans.

I bet Mac was asking for professional advice. Like, Josh, we've been practicing this play where it starts as a draw then we lateral the ball twice from the red zone to mid field. Whatcha think?

Mac was a decent option at QB. With the crappy coaching that we have in offense let's see if garopollo is able to elevate us. Now which QB will want to come here when they know offense is dumpster truck .

We seem to have an exalted opinion of the team. For QB who need to reinvent , NEP is probably a quicksand at this point of time . So I don't think QBs are gonna line up to come and be coached by belichick and Patricia .

If pats trade Mac, sorry we might be just limited to zappe and potentially get Mitch trubisky or maybe worst case Zach Wilson. Garopollo or Mayfield are not going to come here.

Belichick is out of reality . By going with Patricia he lost a big bunch of goodwill and respect he commanded . Now he is a defensive minded coach who has gone to playoffs twice and doesn't have any playoff win in last 4 years and team has seemed middling for over 4 years with no rebuild in sight . That's not a Hallmark of GOAT coach, it looks more like somebody who is on the wane.

Is it surprising that a super competitive QB was frustrated by the situation? Why is it bad if he reached out to Saban or JMD for advise on how to make things better?

I wasn’t being a wise ass. I think there are huge advantages to Brady, the Patriots, as well as the NFL for Brady coming back here for a year or two.

My comparison was fine. Your initial argument was lousy, and I offered an obvious example of why that is the case. My choice of Brady was obvious, since Brady's the guy who was here for 20 years. I could have pointed to any number of other QBs (and have before, since your argument is no more novel than it is good), but there should have been no need for it. You couldn't just let go of your bad argument.

So you then attempted to move the goalposts from a general maturity issue to a question of what the team would accept as behavior from an unestablished QB. I had not addressed that, and don't care to do so now.

Just let it go.

Bad look for Mac. I understand it was a difficult season for him but I don’t recall ever hearing about another QB doing something like that. I hope Mac and Bill repair their relationship but I am very skeptical.

Again, you made a poor comparison which isn't a big deal. To presume that a maturity issue for Mac isn't an issue because Tom had similar outbursts shows that you don't understand the economics of football. I'm pretty sure you understand exactly how bad your comparison was and are unable to admit it, which isn't a big deal. But this is kind of your schtick on here so I'm just going to let it go, which isn't a big deal.

I agree... and it's really too bad. It makes me wonder if Bill feels it's best to just reset at the QB position. Mac wants to be with Josh and Josh wants a cheap QB who can be productive in his system. Bill can get a decent pick back, sign his own former QB-in-waiting Jimmy G (who is still only 31) and use their pretty nice draft haul and cap space this year to rebuild.

If they got a 2nd back for Mac they'd have #14, two 2nds, a 3rd, three 4ths, a 5th, three 6ths and a 7th, which is quite a sum of picks.

I am not convinced Kraft would be happy with that. He’s 82. He isn’t going to be patient for a rebuild. Garoppolo would just be a stop gap for a year or two until the Pats could draft another QB of the future.

Not sure how frequent I post here has to do with anything, mostly I just read.....and lately when I have posted I have been labeled a troll and silenced in the threads I have posted in, so I haven't bothered if you must know....

Regardless check out the video I posted....all sports radio is talking about this
Sorry that that happened to you. I anticipate you shouldn't have that experience in the future. I welcome you to post more often if you're comfortable doing so, always nice to have more faces around!
