I’d be fine with that as long as BB is given 2023 to finally fix the team and make them a competitor for the East again. If he fails, then given everything I said in the last post, the alternatives should be abundant.
I thought that way as well when they were talking about it during the season as a possibility maybe down the road. However, I'm sort of disappointed he's considering walking away at the first sign of adversity. I don't want them to hire a guy who is going to bail just because they had a rough year. That's a little ridiculous to me and I'm sort of surprised to hear he's even considering it.

You've been harping on the 2021 finish all year. The kid was better down the stretch this year compared to last year and the picks in Week 18 - two of them anyway, the third went off Harris' fingers - came because they started pressing instead of just being patient and running their offense the way they had during the rest of the game. The deficit increased after the turnovers.
I have a feeling there's enough frustration internally where they're (hopefully) not going to allow that. Although like everybody else, I'm certainly curious to see how it plays out.
I think people are underestimating Bill's incredible stubbornness. I don't why, considering he stood there steadfastly benching a key defensive starter for presumably nothing major while his defense got completely shredded in the Super Bowl. Christ if he's willing to do that then why would anyone be surprised with him saying, Mac needs to improve (in fact according to Ian, this already started by the end of the season), Patricia's my guy, it's my plan, and I'm forging ahead beyond just one season with all of it.
I agree but I don't totally blame him. He and Snead were under tremendous pressure by Kroneke to build a winner ASAP as winning was key to filling the new stadium. They did that and it cost them the team's future.
Thinking Stevenson might break off a 55-yard TD run there is as dumb as thinking Tannehill might complete a 70-yard hail mary pass. This is defending the indefensible. How about removing the possibility of a lateral altogether by doing the one thing there that made sense (kneel down and take it into OT).

Definitely a good question. Obviously, I'm sure the goal was to try and fill that billion dollar stadium but I don't know even how much impact the win had on their season ticket numbers. The other thing I wondered was if maybe he'd rather ultimately go somewhere where they care about the NFL, because aside from the transplants who go to watch the visiting teams, I don't know if LA really cares all that much about either team, honestly. With the Chargers maybe having at least some of an edge having had the longer history in the state.
They could have seen something on film, who knows. You get him out in space against a defensive back and it's not like he hasn't done it previously. As for the lateral, again, only the people internally know. Again, I know you're mad at Bill, but I would just do the easy thing - wait. He'll be gone in a few years and then you can harp on the next guy.
If you want to call it stubbornness fine but BB is based on principals to the core. There are key tenants to his program that are uncompromising as he believes if the are compromised the whole thing is based on a house of cards.

Merely one comeback win for Mac in two seasons is a major red flag imo.

Had this discussion with venecol. I haven't had time to dig but I mean you have the opener last year where they were down by one and could have won with a field goal but fumbled, another this year where they were knocking on the door and could have gone ahead with a touchdown and fumbled. It's not like it's been all on him.
Or you could just admit a kneel down was the better call.
