Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Jackson, Lawrence... the conference is loaded with elite young quarterbacks.
Lawrence does not belong on the list. He led the Jags to 10 points against the Titans. Looked OK at best, not close to elite. Slow to read the field, late to deliver.
I think you're being generous when you call a 3-pick game "good." I think Mac's ceiling is in the B- range. He needs an elite WR1, although as I've said repeatedly, I like their current group of WRs. The team needs to bring in a qualified OC too. BB did Mac a major disservice with Patricia and Judge. I think there's unanimous agreement on this last point.
Mac is in the B range as he will never do things like Hebert, Allen, or Mahomes. The hope is that Mac reads the field well, and processes it faster, such that he can throw guys open like a QB not to be named. No idea if Mac takes that step, but if he does, he will be an A level QB.

Godwin seems like the more likely trade candidate. Evans only saves them $2M in cap space if he's traded and $21M dead cap space, whereas Godwin would save them almost $9M in cap space and $15M dead cap.
Not sure Godwin looks the same as years past. Might be hard to move him.

Lotsa emotion in the players re DMac / Slater. I need to think they are moving on. Not only do I love these players for their talent, effort, and winning, I also prefer the way they didn’t make this about them while the team was hoping to move on. They are excellent leaders and I’ll miss them both.
Yeah definitely the end for both of them ….two great careers

Let me count the ways Myles Bryant caused problems for his team.

He had the tackle on Hines but whiffed. Was Bryant not prepared to play this game. Did a family member pass away recently? He was less than stellar this game and all season.

Probably need to upgrade his position. I don’t like the player.

Bryant just plain sucks in all phases…..why Bb keeps this liability out there is hard to fathom

Some of those teams we watched at BC and Harvard were pretty offensive.
I can't even imagine....

Typically teams make mistakes when they aren't talented, try to do too much and play beyond their skill and ability. That applies to coaches as well.

I think the 2022 NEP had middling talent but committed the most egregious brain farts at the most inopportune times.

I mean it's not really an insult if I think she's a bad poster? I'm sure she's a great person but as a poster, cmon now. Hey thats my opinion and could be wrong.

She spams useless tweets she's trying to push from people in the media. I'm sorry but some of the stuff is captain obvious stuff that adds nothing. She also loves to name drop them when discussing topics as if it comes from a honest place. Like no one is think about what Alex Barth or Zack Cox are thinking with respect. If you're trying to break into the media this isn't the way.

Loves deleting and micromanaging post she disagrees with. This isn't a secret, Ross. Theres been threads about it. Especially in the GDT where it's designed to be knee-jerk lol. Imaging scanning that thread furiously deleting drunk post from poor schmucks on their day off?

She's telling people not to critique Bill as if he didn't design this rebuild from top to bottom. Literally saying hes the best coach in todays game after multiple mediocre seasons without Brady, questionable FA decisions and draft picks but the idea that someone else could do better is just out of pocket. That's such a casual take when you really think about it. Chemistry matters and throwing "the best at this or the best at that" doesn't always solve the situation. Especially in coaching.

Loves labeling posters as "trolls" when it's clear she doesn't know what a real "troll" is. For instance @captain stone will say something and itll be funny but another poster will say the same thing and theyre a "troll."

Not cool coming from mods. Especially when they clearly show bias and don't show a clear handle on the topics above. I'm looking above and nothing is exaggerated or made up.

It's really not meant to be personal or "mean." I just think some posters are better than others and she oversteps when it comes to Bill.
I just call it the way I see it, and give my honest opinions and always try to be respectful to all my fellow Pat fans. If you don't like it or like me, I'm sorry, but you can put me on ignore. I'm not changing or I'm not going anywhere.

Thanks for taking a personal shot at me for no reason. I hope you feel proud of yourself by trying to put me down. lol

Shows what kind of person you are.
The board is well-aware BGC is a self-absorbed, little man who has an over-inflated opinion of his contribution and worth on this forum. He thinks the 5% of the time he is right on draft picks and player eval gives him licence to belittle others.

Grade A nerdball with horrible people skills.

Yeah, to attack me for no reason, I never said one thing to him or about him...shows the man @BaconGrundleCandy really is which is pathetic.

Mac and Lawrence are in similar situations going into the make or break year three. Both had a lost year due to poor coaching, both have shown signs that they can be a solid QB1. Mac looks much worse because Lawrence has superior physical skills and Mac regressed in year 2.

Lawrence had a really good finish to this year. I don't think Jacksonville fans are worrying about him quite as much.

Agreed, last year the situation was reversed. We will find out if Mac can apply his lessons learned this year to his relative success as a rookie to become a reliable QB1.

The interceptions are not on Mac.

Agholor should have caught the contested ball or worst case at least slapped it away.

The last two are forced choices and the pass to Harris was because of lack of chemistry and Harris not being a great receiving back. Henry was overthrown a bit in pressure.

Otherwise he was on money helping us compete after 2 ST gifted TDs.

Mac has shown enough this season to ensure we put the best players and we have a decent chance of winning like 49ers . The playcalling is the difference between us and 49ers.

  1. Firstly sack Cam Achord and replace with Joe Judge .
  2. Next move Patricia to Ernie role and get a new OC. Not sure if we need BoB or someone else.
  3. Hire a new offensive line coach a veteran from college football or one of the other teams.
  4. Fire WR coach Troy Brown for failing to develop Thornton and get a new one.
Now resign some of our players

Harris at less than 5 million AAV on a 1 year prove it contract.
J Jones if he is not too expensive
Peppers.
Meyers at 11-13 MM AAV

Trade Jonnu and take a cap hit of 6-8 million. No point wasting snaps on him.
Cut all contacts with agholor
Cut Folk
Cut Bailey
Cut T Brown
Cut Ferentz
Cut M Bryant
Cut Cajuste or sign as PS player.

Now in the off-season depending on available players, this would be my priority for signings

  1. OT mid level veteran like Karras
  2. Stud athletic Linebacker to spy on mobile QB
  3. Middle level CB like Mills

In draft go
OT
OT
Safety
LB / CB
WR / TE
Kicker
Punter

I don't understand the recent hate for Folk. He set an nfl record this year, WTH. He used to never kick off. Bailey did that. I'll take his accuracy inside 50 yds all day. The kick returns weren't his fault for crying out loud.

They aren't in similar situations at all. We'd be absolutely thrilled if Mac in year three put together the season Lawrence just had in his second year. Mac goes into 2023 with questions over his viability as a long term starter, Lawrence goes into 2023 with the expectation he could make the jump into the Jackson/Herbert/Burrow tier of AFC QBs (the best players at the position below Allen and Mahomes). They're in wildly different spots.
