Pre Game Thread - Pats @ Bills

I don't think it will be a repeat of the playoffs. But I definitely could see another 24-10 loss.
Yeah. I went with 24-9 in Alamo's thread. The defense is good and they're actually playing well to end the season. They were not playing well to end last season so there's that. The offense well... you know.

Unless the Bills don't care about the 2 seed and would be willing to take either the 2nd or the 3rd seed they will need to win this game to ensure the 2 seed.* They can secure the 2 seed with a loss and a Bengals loss but the tie-breaker comes down to common opponents Bills are 9-1 and the Bengals are 8-2 in common games. Both games this weekend are common games.

I put the asterik there because the next tie breaking procedure is Strength of Victory and I can't find that anywhere and I am too lazy to do all that math. So it is possible in theory that they could lose and win the tie breaker on SOV.

The Pats, if they want to make the playoffs, will need to somehow win this game. I just can't see that happening unless the Bills sit their starters.
Bengals win the SOV.

Oh, that's an easy question to answer. There is no need to hear any of my opinions however long when it comes to talking about THIS football team. The site is now polluted with nothing more that ideologues who clear no longer root FOR the team, but exist solely to run it down. There is ZERO interest in anything positive. Saying something positive will only bring on a wrath of negative responses and ringing put downs about being a "fanboy". Sadly it is hardly worth my time to respond

THIS is a thread where we SHOULD be discussing whether the best strategy to slow the game down, which seems the likeliest plan, or, If I had may way, would be to alternate our strategy to use our hurry up offense to limit the Bill personnel changes and slow down their rush. We can still run the ball doing this. I believe this is an all or nothing game where the OTHER team has a LOT going for it. Let's do the unexpected, we have nothing less to lose.

Clearly even another win will bring down even MORE of the negativism that pervades this site. We no longer discuss strategy. We only discuss who sucks more, the players or the coaches and I'm tired of it

Still I love the team. I love the game. So I occasionally stop by to check in, usually on a thread that isn't directly talking about the Pats, like the Hamlin thread.

THAT"s why. T. Happy?

This is exactly why your posts are needed now more than ever, Ken. So posters like the clodhopper, who understands little about the pro game, can be taken to school (and sit in the dunce's corner where he belongs).

Chiefs got at least partially screwed so that’s ok.
Agreed. Neutral site I like the Bills or Bengals over the Chiefs. The Chiefs have squeaked out some close victories this season including to some weak teams. They also lost @IND.

I think that both Buffalo and KC have traditionally had a more-than-average boost from a home field advantage. Those are difficult environments for a road team. Cincy not so much

I want to know how the officiating could potentially be. If NFL wants to look good and gather all the positive vibes out if Damar's situation, then the bills trouncing pats would seem like good (Bills) winning against evil (Bill/patriots ).

Everybody wants us to lose and that too super bad ... Bills will be pumped, referees would be loathe to give iffy penalties to bills and possibly stick more of it to us as some form of poetic justice.

Add to that we have self inflicted wounds in form of Patricia and Judge and Achord.

It would be a miracle if we win and thats what I am hoping for. If Butler interception can happen , then us beating bills can also happen.

Its Superbowl week for us now.

Having 17 games unfortunately skews that achievement. It amounts to just 59 yards per game.
Actually 62, because he missed one game with a concussion (minor differnce, I know). I focus most on the ypc. 4.8 ypc is very good and we have seen how many times he should have been stopped for little to no gain, only to see him go into beast mode. With more consistent blocking, he likely would have had 1,100 yds by now.

Good points. Despite Patricia's frustrating calls for predictable runs up the middle, Stevenson will get to the second level for 10-15 yards for every couple carries that get stuffed. A lot of his yardage has been on his own.

So let me get this straight... In the last 3 matchups with the Bills, they have 104 points (35 P/G), 14 TDs, and 3 punts but now that they're wearing #3 patches, they're really going to beat us. Is that what we're going with?
You underrate the level of emotion when it comes to football.

That's the problem with the forum as it currently exists. I expect the changes @Ian has planned will help. Too many internet trolls here who aren't fans of the Patriots, they are fans of winning. Some are just here to be pricks. I hope we get back to some constructive discussions.

you think the refs wont subconsciously favor the bills ? not that they will need it.

Pats are in such a bad position for this game lol

Pats already have enough hate as it is, and now with the whole world rallying behind Hamlin, its going to be an emotional game and everyone will hate the Pats even more if we ruin it for the Bills and their fans

I cant wait!

I hear you. The difference is this isn't 2014. I don't think we've got the horses in the stable. I hope I am wrong.

1k is still a great number. Shows consistent contributions. Add In his receiving yards and it’s a positive thing to build on.
