Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Dolphins

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Can’t believe people here are praising Stidham. QBs develop if you have patience.

Nope, QB has to be a star right away!

Honestly he had some rough moments in the first half but I can't believe people are complaining about a game where Mac threw 2 tds and had no interceptions. And lead that game winning drive to put it away.

If zappe did that some of these same posters clamoring for him would be ready to build a statue.

I had to wait until after 2pm mountain time to watch the game since I'm out of market.....

We essentially have a playoff game next week against a team that we would have to beat if we advance. Couldn't be happier in a pre/post Brady era. I'm very excited to watch that game.

Our D can keep us in any game if they're clicking. Need a couple corners to be healthy, but I'm very happy with how Bryant played against speedy WRs with his limited skillset.

In a twist of irony, this team could parallel the 07 Giants' team.... JudChe, Wise, Barmore getting at the QB, and Mac (considered an average QB) has the capability of making big plays with his skill position guys. Just need the oline to continue battling.

We control our own destiny.... all we could ask for.

Posted an article earlier, but here’s the video:

Breer abolutely has no sources..he just connects dots randomly. plus i hate him more for his OSU takes.

Bottom line, win or lose, you can’t ask for anything more than this. Last game of the year next week, and the Pats control their own destiny. Even after a bad season, they could still get into the playoffs, that’s unbelievable.

If Buffalo loses to Cincy tomorrow night, Buffalo may just sit some of their starters next week. So really need Cincy to come through. If Buffalo wins, they are fighting for home field throughout. I can’t see the Pats winning. But oddly enough, the Pats could still get in at 8-9. So as a fan of a football team, you really can’t ask for more than the last week of the NFL season meaning something. There are a bunch of fans of teams that would love if their teams were still alive.

It’s exciting that they are still alive after 16 games despite a subpar season (at least when it comes to what Pat’s fans are used to). Bad offense, bad QB play, bad offensive play calling, but still control their own destiny, and/or can get in with other teams losing. Amazing !
All i want next week at the very least if not a win is "to go the distance" Rocky style. not get knocked out in the 1Q.

Man…

I can’t help wonder how the season may have gone but for the MP/JJ experiment.

My gut says better offense and 3 more wins but a similar outcome from last year with the D getting gashed by buff or KC.

BUT…gotta admit the D was good enough for a 10-11 win season.
Yeah the marked improvements in Daniel Jones and Trevor Lawrence and Mac's regression suggest that coaching actually matters in QB development.

My vote is that Joe Judge is an even worse problem than Patricia: both Daniel Jones and Mac Jones failed to develop under him, and he was responsible for the terrible 2019 WR room. If he stays, give him Special Teams next year.

While I've noted that DMac has lost something these last 2 years, it'll still be a huge hole to fill when he's gone.
Wonder if J. Mills could take that spot to lock down the secondary at FS? With Marcus and Jack Jones taking starting spots at CB with J. Jones next year?
As far as Slater - hard to replace the locker room leader/chaplin. But Davis & Schooler seem ready to handle STs.
Not that we won't miss DMac, but safety may be the deepest position on the team.

Considering he has 3 TDs which would rank him #3 if he played on offense you have a good argument.
Marcus Jones also has 3 TD's even though he's played about half a season.

Watching the Dolphins offense is so conflicting. You can see how the design leads to moving the ball and making plays. Then you watch Mac Jones shot putting it around the lot and you wonder if their design would even help him. It wont, he sucks and that should be pretty obvious to any honest football fan. Could he be better under a better offensive staff, sure. But is he the answer, sure, just not sure what the question is.......

The thought has crossed my mind too. ST were elite under his control.

Legitimate question for y'all though:
When was the last time BB promoted someone over an existing coordinator, essentially firing/ demoting the incumbent?

At least Brett Favre can’t lay an egg in the final week and keep us out of the playoffs like he did in 02 and 08.
No but I could very easily see the Jets collapsing and stinking up the joint vs Miami. That's the danger game.

Really, the cold truth is Buffalo is a game we need to win. Not just to make the playoffs, but to actually beat a good team that is a contender and prove it to themselves

Yup and they’ve had our number lately anyway. If we beat them there and get a rematch maybe there’s a little doubt there when they see us again the next week.

I’d be surprised if JJ is able to play next week, or the week after, the way he was holding his left arm close to his body, after looking like he was in some serious pain immediately after the impact. Looks like either a shoulder, separation, or a broken clavicle. Hope that I’m wrong.

That makes the availability of Mills and Marcus even more critical.
