They'd also need the Steelers to drop one game, the Raiders to drop one game, and the Jaguars to either lose to Houston OR beat the Titans in the final week.
What if the Jags beat HOU and lose to the Tits?

Then the Titans and Jaguars would both end the season at 8-9 but the Titans would win the division and the Jaguars would actually beat the Patriots for the 7 seed in the tiebreaker at 8-9 due to a better conference record.

Wow, I had no idea the Jags had a shot at #7. I thought their only shot in was w/ division title. So even if Pats win on Sunday, Jets lose to MIA, and Steelers lose 1 of next 2, you would have 6 teams at 8-9.

Tits 8-9 (#4)
Jags 8-9 (#7)
Phins 8-9
Pats 8-9
Jete 8-9
Squeelers 8-9

That's crazy. This can't happen
We can't have 2 AFCS teams in with losing records.

But if Steelers win out, they'd be in. And if Jets win out, they'd be in. And if MIA wins on Sunday, they'd be in. Correct?

Hmmm, I used the playoff machine and I had all these things happen (Raiders lose to 49ers, Steelers lose 1, and I had Jags beating Titans.

But now I'm really wondering about that Jags / Titans game. Hmmmmm.

Theres an outside chance houston beats jax on Sunday, then we wouldn’t have to worry about jax or ten in the 8-9 scenario. Houston’s been ok the last few weeks

If the Steelers win out, they're in, unless the Patriots win out. Same for the Jets, but if the Jets and Steelers both win out and the Patriots don't, the Jets would top the Steelers due to their head-to-head victory in week 4. If Miami wins on Sunday, they would not automatically be in because if the Jets also win this weekend and then Miami loses to the Jets, they'd both finish 9-8 but the Jets would win the tiebreaker over Miami because they would have swept Miami this year head-to-head. If Miami wins this weekend and the Jets lose this weekend then Miami clinches a playoff spot (as far as I can tell anyway).

There's always a chance. HOU beat them in JAX (1st win) 13-6. The heroes of that game RB Pierce and CB Stingley are both on IR.

In last 5 games, JAX is 4-1 (wins vs BAL, TEN, DAL & NYJ) scoring 27.4 ppg and allowing 25.2 ppg. Texans are 1-4 scoring 19 ppg and allowing 25.6 ppg.

But divisional game, so anything can happen.

MIA held our offense to just 7 points last time.

Last time was the first game of the season, not really important or relevant at this point in the season, and you know that.

Agree but I was replying to a poster saying the Pats held MIA's offense to 13 pts in the same game.

MIA doesn't have a lot of sacks (#12) but they love to blitz and bring the pressure which is a problem for Mac.

Mac clean pocket rating: 99.3
Mac under pressure rating: 36.2
Overall rating: 84.6

Because Mac is immature and panics. He loses his cool. This is a perfect stat to explain what my eyes see. Mac is a Top 10 QB when he is mature and calm (he has a clean pocket). That is why BB starts him over Zappe.

Does the OC suck? Yes. Will the OC matter if Mac can't stop being a baby? I doubt it. We need a new OC AND for Mac to stop losing his mind.

We better not have one of notorious slow starts on Offense because this game could get ugly early. Missing Marcus and Jack @ CB will not leave us much room for error. Yeah and Teddy Bridgewater have put up numbers in things league with good WR's he had Diggs and a Thielen in Minnesota. I don't think this Pats Offense intimates this current Dolphin Team can Mac and the Offense keep?? We better find a way to score at least 24 to have a chance I think.

Zappe Clean P: 110.9
Zappe UPressure: 62.2
Zappe overall: 100.9

Good morning everyone, let's get back on topic and we'll get you ready for a New Year's Eve in Patriot land:

Miami's D is garbage
Currently worst "points against" team in the AFC (27th in NFL)
28th in "passing yds against" in NFL
10th in "rushing yds against"

On offense...
Miami is the #27 rushing offense
Bridgewater: 3 TDs/3INTs in limited action

If NE wasn't such an offensive clusterphuck, I would bet the ranch on the Pats...... but considering Patricia can't get the play calls in and Mac can't get the team lined up after a timeout before the play clock expires, who knows.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a prop bet for a Marcus Jones TD "cycle" INT/ST/Reception?

PS....Zappe would light up Miami's secondary.
Mac will feature swing passes behind the LOS

Unfortunately, Marcus is out vs MIA.

???

Where do you see this?

I thought he was right on the Raiders WR that snagged the TD. Perfect throw, perfect catch, although out of bounds

Marcus Jones has been an unbelievably bright light in what has otherwise been a gloomy year

Doesn't surprise me anymore though, thats the new thing on this board is to basically tear down every single player on the team if they're in frame at all on an opposing team's TD play
