The plays that are going around show that frustration that comes out in the moment. Saban talked about it during the draft process and nicknamed him "John McEnroe."

The frustration, mechanics, relationship with pressure, off platform throws vs pressure. All these things predate fat Matt Putan - Patricia.

Jones is a hot head and poor sport thus the McEnroe comparison. To extrapolate those qualities as you do here to the quality of his play is a mistake. McEnroe was renowned for his play under pressure and ability to win key points in his matches.

One problem you have as the resident “draft expert” is you often feel the need to justify your ratings as if any of us care about your ratings. I really like the information and informed opinions you provide come draft season on prospects, but I don’t care whether you saw someone as a “1st rounder or “high 2nd rounder” two years later. "I went down in front of him to kind of get in the way to stop him from slowing down Tyquan, who obviously could make the tackle there," he said on WEEI. "So just kind of went down in front of him, trying to stop a fast guy from getting to another fast guy.

I wasn't saying McEnroe = bad under pressure or equating the two. Just like i wasnt saying McEnroe has bad mechanics bc Mac does. The McEnroe stuff is obviously the hot headed impulsive reactions, red in the face stuff.

Where you place value on prospects matters, a lot. If you can't place a value on a prospect before the draft you're not very good at this.

Once or twice, you can say it's a fluke or just trying hard to make a play. But that argument goes out the window when he keeps repeating an action his fellow players universally think of as dirty/unfair. At that point intent goes out the window and it's all about results and perception.

If he does not cut it out, he will suffer for it. Ryan Clark said as a defensive player, the unwritten rules for a QB get thrown out if he is perceived as dirty.

Did not mean it means zero once he becomes a repeat offender. That's the answer of all dirty plays too.
