I can see the trajectory the velocity the speed of the football.
I know that his arm was too weak to get the ball to a place that Thornton could make a play on it.

We traded up for Thonton who’s best talent is running down the field faster than anyone on defense and Mac can’t get the ball in front of him DEEP to go get it.

That is a weakness and negating the whole reason we traded for the guy.
It’s like buying a Porche and never going past second gear.

I am not wrong.
Good points

Positives:
+ team showed grit,
+ 2nd half defense was elite
+ Bourne showed why many of us thought he was our best offensive player going into this season

Negatives:
- Offense was what we've come to expect in the first half. Nonexistent.
- In the second half "comeback" they didn't do anything that wasn't some kind of prayer. Just crazy low percentage desperation haymakers that happened to work a few times. Not exactly anything you can draw up and replicate with any consistency.
- When they got close to the goal line with a chance to take the lead, they sputtered like their usual selves because you need drawn up plays instead of prayers at that spot.

In short I'm glad they fought but the final score is fool's gold.

I Think they finally figured it out with that HC too. Yeah it took a while but they are finally getting there.

Have you ever considered stand-up comedy? You won't even have to work at it, just say whatever's on your mind.

Because of this one game? BB's record with and without Brady is his record, as is the success of this coaching tree. You can blame the players, who are the people that actually play the game, but BB actually drafted or brought in all of these guys.

I love the Pats and I am really happy they fought back they way they did today. Made for good entertainment, which in reality, all it really is.
No not because of this one game. It’s a cumulative effect of it having been a topic I find annoying for years.

My experience is that events occur based on a combination of factors and anyone who only sees issues as black or white without nuance will never understand the whole picture.

I mean they didn’t cross midfield until the end of the 3rd quarter and they had like 70 yards of offense with like 6 min left in the 3rd.

The Bengals did everything they could to give us the game. 2 TD dropped, a miss FG, a pick 6, a fumble.
Our offense was putrid for 3 quarters.

BUT...

We left lots of points out on the field ourselves with missed XPs and 2 point plays.

Marcus Jones, Jakobi Meyers and Judon should largely be credited with the plays that qualify as "gave the game away..." Marcus for the run back, Chase's fumble was highly predictable since he was loose with the ball, and Jakobi's hustle and smarts on the TD.

We also had dropped catches. Also got a lot of calls against us from the refs.

This is the thing with many QBs in the league. People will figure out Purdy, Mike White, Zappe, etc. It just takes a few games. I was reading here about Purdy being more of a hit than Mac Jones It's silly because Mac put together several games as good as Purdy's best last year. Then the NFL figured out Mac.
Well, Mac is right in the same category with Purdy, white, and Zappe….. in the right system. Any of these guys can be successful… I think what Brady was able to do here with slightly above average talent on offense in many years… generally not always the best offensive lines… Is remarkable.

On point #3, we simply do not have the personnel to stay with back and tight ends. We have Bentley out there on guys that are so much faster and agile. He's a good linebacker who needs to come off the field on 3rd down.

We need Tremaine Edmunds. The Patriots need to get word to his agent that they'll max his payday in FA. Do NOT extend him.
I could not agree more! I have been posting on various threads the need for a linebacker that can play against both the run and the pass.

Honestly, it’s amazing how well the team has defended the pass given that most of their off the ball linebacker snaps go to Tavai and Bentley who are bad against the pass.

Many people criticizing Mac ...
It's Patricia and the OL ...
the receivers don't have time to finish their routes.
Because the OL sucks that bad ... and who coaches the OL and calls the plays????
Somebody buy Patricia a stopwatch ... a really big one.

still cant believe we blew the game at the 5 yard line. this is such a mentally weak team.
