Mac Jones last two weeks

I get it. You don't like him, and others don't either, which is fine. But given time, this will all play out one way or the other.

Zappe's under contract for three more years, and it's entirely possible he's starting at this time next season. It's also entirely possible they bring in a new OC, fix the OL, reallocate the $$ to adding a top target, and speedsters like Thornton and Strong take a step forward. If all of that happens and Mac thrives, great. If he doesn't, they'll at least have set up a foundation for Zappe or somebody else, and if nothing else, we'll have a chance to be better than we are right now. Which is all anybody wants anyway.

Even Edelman have something to say on the matter.

Yes, I get it. It is always Jones' fault. Watch the play again. He would have ran Wynn's back if he rolled to his right. And he was standing in the end zone. He rolls right where there defenders right there, he risks getting a safety.
Looks like he had room and the time. No one is saying it's all Mac's fault. His play is one of the problems for sure. The coaching staff, o-line, and receivers obviously bear some responsibility too.

Mac's gameday composure has become a problem too. I'm pretty sure by this point he's entering the games with a negative mindset because he's losing his composure very early on in these games now.

No he didn't. Here is the play a half a second later. The right of him is already closed off. And BTW, although it isn't clear here, Jonnu is still not looking back here. He will look back when he cuts to the sidelines.

Unfortunately i have to agree with this .Mac has not attempted to work to improve since training camp when they changed the offense and has been loud about his dislike for the change and the OC.
LOL. And you know this how?

I suppose if he's utterly immobile. And I'm pretty sure quarterbacks release their passes to intended receivers all the time before they're looking back for the ball. It's called anticipation.

Yeah, but it goes both ways, and you can't cherry-pick the parts that favor an argument. Zappe went 7-of-12 (58.3%) with 2 interceptions in the 4th QTR and was 9-of-16 (56.3%) overall in the second half. It is what it is. But in fairness, he was also under constant duress, and it's tough to operate that way. They also kept an extra tight end in there for him a fair mount in the two games prior, which explained why he had more time. And I'm assuming since Mac practiced to be the starter that week, the game plan probably didn't include that.

At the same time, those same offensive line problems have been an issue for Mac for much of the season. However, Sunday, it wasn't the case, and it was just a really bad performance (Mac was 5-of-16 in the second half [31.3%] - and 3-of-11 in the 4th QTR [27.3%], albeit he at least didn't turn it over). But Mac has shown that if he has time, he's been able to execute. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened very often this season and like @ashley and others have pointed out, they definitely need to prioritize the OL this offseason.
There's also the little tidbit that Mac took 100% of the snaps during practice, which is odd given nobody knew who would start and Bill said it was always the plan to have them both play. Zappe said he was taking mental snaps that week. Practicing snaps w/ the 1st team matters. He was thrown in cold just like in the GB game but was asked to do more given the score. He came in and instantly delivered, putting the team ahead. The Bears made half time adjustments and we didn't was the difference.

Like you said, it is what it is.

LOL! He is in the friggin end zone. You are not going to try to run around your tackle who is engaged with a defender and trying to direct his defender into the end zone to avoid Jones.

And do you think a panel of former players thought Jones should have thrown to a receiver in these instances before they looked back for the ball, one of them might have mentioned that?

Um, the second play, the one receiver who Orlovsky incidentally says is looking back for the ball is WIDE OPEN. He also says this receiver is "2 yards" down the field which is only incorrect by 200%.
That clip was discussed a while back. I believe that's Bourne that's wide open at the sticks. Easy 1st down. Mac doesn't even look at him. If course Orlavski completely ignores that because it doesn't fit his narrative. We've seen this over and over, where Mac isn't processing the entire field. He looks in one direction and stops looking. Sorry, but this is not what you need from a 1st Rd QB.

implying Mcvay isn’t a great coach is hilarious…also the talent on the rams isn’t as great as you think. Is this a coping mechanism for a bill defense? He’s 79-88 if Brady doesn’t start games for him…doesn’t scream great coach to me! See how backwards this logic is?
4-10.

Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson, Leonard Floyd, Matt Stafford, Tyler Higbee, Greg Gaines, and a bunch of other decent starters. This is more than what the Patriots have. We don't have anything like this on our side.

Anyone with critical thinking should ask why the offense looked better when a 3rd string rookie QB with no practice reps entered the game than it has the majority of the season. It doesn’t make sense.

The pats had multiple scoring drives, effective PA despite a mismatch on the OL (Wynn vs. Gary) & a QB with arguably no practice with the WRs beforehand. The offense then proceeded to have 2 of it’s 3 best games of the season the following two weeks with Zappe playing.

The browns pass defense is average. They sold out to stop the run & forced the pats to beat them through the air. They went 7/14 on 3rd down & had 6.1 ypp.

I’m not a Zappe guy. 90%+ of round 4 QBs don’t become NFL starting QBs. He has a limited skill set and his height is a problem. Why was the offense better in 3 weeks with likely an NFL backup than it has all season with Mac?

I’m asking. I don’t get it & its frustrating from a fan perspective obviously.

Sure it does. Jones was playing pain and couldn't move anywhere except forward and backward and hadn't played in a month and was rusty. Like @captain stone pointed out - and he doesn't like Mac - Jones shouldn't even have started. Zappe had played the previous three weeks and should have started and finished that one as well.

He didn't look lost, he got some balls batted, but lost, not at all.
He threw a pick 6, had balls batted down, threw another int, overall, it wasn't pretty. His stats: 9-16 76 yards 2 int and 4 balls batted down at the line.

Troy Brown deserves blame too. I love Troy. He is one of my all time favorites, but I question if he is a good coach. Kurt Warner pointed out in the video review of the Vikes game that players were not looking back for the ball. Three games later and that issue isn’t corrected. My guess is that it has been an issue much longer than the Vikings game.
And Troy became our WR coach in 2019 and i would say the last 3 years WR play has been pretty awful. Hard to know for sure if it's him or bad/players/coaching/qb play though

4-10.

Aaron Donald (O/injured), Jalen Ramsey (playing like ass), Cooper Kupp (IR), Allen Robinson (IR), Leonard Floyd, Matt Stafford (IR), Tyler Higbee, Greg Gaines, and a bunch of other decent starters and the worse OL in the league. This is more than what the Patriots have. We don't have anything like this on our side.

If the goal is losing a lot of games, yes he's better
The first goal is always to win the division. Checkmark TB. The second goal is to make the postseason as a wild card. TBD BB.

Why wasn't this obvious to the coaching staff?

Funny how you think everyone who you disagree with has an agenda and they are just shaping the narrative to fit that agenda. You think Bedard has an agenda. You think Orlovsky has an agenda. Keyshawn agreed with Orlovsky in the clip I provided and he hates Mac Jones. He thinks Mac Jones isn't a good QB. And Keyshawn likes Belichick. What agenda does Keyshawn have?
