And Bill couldn't care less about merit or tenure, if Zappe was better right now he'd be the starter already.

Zappe entered the Bears game and engineered two TD drives after the offense did nothing for three series except turn the ball over.

Until the Bears easily figured him out and batted down a dozen of his throws. Get in his lanes and put your hands up and he can't beat you. His arm is weaker than Mac's and that's not exactly a high bar.

Then the entire team crapped the bed, it was rainy and wet. Justin Fields turned the ball over five times, that's not a representative sample size considering Zappe's two starts were historically good.

Zappe was horrible. The job was his and he blew it.

All the Zappe talk feels like Stidham all over again. I didn't need to see Stiddy take another snap to "see what he's got" and I don't need to see Zappe either.

I have seen worse from Mac this year than anything Zappe did.

The trolls supporting Mac at this point are just dug in. It's indefensible. Next year when Matty P is gone it will be "he's had 3 OC's in 3 years". I'm not sure what they will say after that but this is just going to keep getting uglier with noodle arm leading the charge.

You know what's kind of funny even that Turnstile Offensive Tackle Conner McDermott improved his play in three weeks and Mac Jones is still laboring in week 15.

Jones completed 68.6% of his passes last week against the Cardinals. He was 24 for 35 for 235, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. Not great numbers, but not bad numbers especially when you factor the INT wasn't his fault and the Pats ran the ball for two scores (one was a first and goal off a 39 yard pass from Jones to Henry).

Yesterday was an awful game for Jones, but I am not sure why you are combining the two games to make it look like last week's game was also a bad game for Jones.

You're right, another sub 300 yard game with 0 TDs arent bad stats . How long are we going to defend the guy? Zappe still only had 2 less TDs than Mac and he hasn't played in 6 games.

Mac wasn't sacked once and had time to throw, this with Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby on the other side...

I don't want to hear peep about the offensive line not playing well.

Our offense scored 1 TD against the 28th ranked defense in points and yards allowed.

Don't forget he had open receivers to throw too. Also, why was Zappe under center so much running effective Play Action passing, while we can't get Mac to even sniff being under center

I mean...Tim Tebow had a 100+ rating once when he went something like 2-8 the entire game. The Patriots defense shut out the Lions who have a horrible defense. I wouldn't say Zappe won that game for them. He was ok against the Browns.

Also Zappe threw for less than 100 yards in the GB game against a below average defense and that includes OT. A pedestrian 6.6 yards per attempt. In OT started close to midfield and needed 15 yards to get in range for a game winning FG... and went 3 and out. I wouldn't hold that game up as a measure of his greatness.

Mac is sailing passes over receivers heads, throwing behind them... accuracy and decision making was something we were supposed to be able to count on Mac for.

He was stellar in two starts where he prepared as a starter and threw some lasers. He's college football's all-time passing yards and TD leader in a single season. "Weak arm" is your opinion and not one supported by anything other than "because I say so."

It was his if he played well against the Bears. Instead he was benched and rightfully so.

Mac started that game and started the moment he was healthy. Try again.

Zappe threw for 309 yards, two TD's against Cleveland. That offensive showing is still the single most points this offense has scored all season... despite Mac making 11 starts to Zappe's 2. Nothing you've said is supported by fact, it's all biased opinion... probably because he's not tall enough for you.

But they still struggled in a lot of the same areas as this year, thats the point...They needed to follow a specific script to win games, and if they didnt, they lost. They didnt win games from behind, or in the 20s...He put up a lot of numbers against teams that were bad, and they pummeled them. Thats not his fault, but it definitely hid some of the issues on the offense.

He was a rookie last year. Name the rookie QBs who were QBs that able to carry offenses. And not just last year, but in general. Most rookies cannot carry an offense and need to follow a script to win.

The OL was just fine the last two weeks against two of the worst D's in the league. Since Zappe's two impressive starts continuously get dismissed due to the quality of the D's, I think it is fair to point this out.

Mac has been a dealt a bad hand with the coaching. Constant stupid penalties and a bad OC? Absolutely. Those two things are drive killers even with an above average QB. But an above average QB doesn't add to the problems by constantly missing open receivers and showing terrible pocket/game awareness. He is part of the problem. We have below average offensive coaching, and we have a below average QB. Both can be true. Both are true for anyone who watches and understands QB play.

It is natural to hold to the idea that your 1st round QB will be the man longer than your lying eyes are telling you differently. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong about Mac.

The excuse making for Mac is sad. I'd feel too claustrophobic camped up Mac's ass like that.
