The running game averaged 5.8 ypc & Mac was sacked once. The Cardinals were missing their #1 CB. Two of the worst pass defenses in the NFL & he played like 2021 Cam without the rushing ability.

I’ve been defending him for awhile but I think there’s an argument to pull him at this point. He’s broken - whether it’s mechanics, confidence, etc. When the Bengals inevitably shut down the pats offense in the first half do you put in Zappe for evaluation purposes & shelve Mac until next training camp?

And that's misleading. Throw out last week because he was 24-of-35 (68.6%) for 235-yards and his pick was on a batted pass.

However, yesterday was so bad, it makes the "two weeks" look bad. He was decent last week. Yesterday was his career-worst, eclipsing his previous worst game, which was the second Buffalo outing last season (14-of-32 [43.8%] 145yds 2 INTs). Definitely brutal.

On the year, hes been awful realistically...We can all agree hes been put in a bad situation, but hes still been really really bad

The thing that really stands out to me is that he's started 11 games and has 7 td passes. That is alarming. No doubt the playcalling situation has affected him and the entire offense but still, that is a shockingly low number of TDs for a starter in today's NFL. Guys like Andy Dalton and Marcus Mariota have more than double what Mac has.

I think Kraft needs to step in and tell Bill to Bailey a shot.
He has to see the success San Fran is having with Purdy and look at how in sync the offense looked with Zappe.

Kraft is a businessman he need to make the good business decision.
This well if it’s still a train wreck in the passing game you know it’s Patricia and you fire him.
If it looks much better you point the finger more forward mac.

Jones completed 68.6% of his passes last week against the Cardinals. He was 24 for 35 for 235, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. Not great numbers, but not bad numbers especially when you factor the INT wasn't his fault and the Pats ran the ball for two scores (one was a first and goal off a 39 yard pass from Jones to Henry).

Yesterday was an awful game for Jones, but I am not sure why you are combining the two games to make it look like last week's game was also a bad game for Jones.

Based on Mac's trend or needle the Boo birds should be out in full force the next two weeks sending the Krafts and BB a message for 2023. We will be off the prime time schedule no extra $$$$ for the Krafts.

Yeah, I didn't see your post before I posted mine. Yes, yesterday was so bad for Jones that it would drag down any performance from Jones in a two game look.

They scored 51 touchdowns last season. The more alarming fact is they have 23 right now, and it's hard to put 100% of that on Jones. Not saying he doesn't shoulder some of the blame, but I definitely don't believe he deserves as much as some people want to put on him.

The message is there. Fire Patricia and give Jones and the offense a real OC. Kraft and Belichick know that.

Quit while you're behind we ain't winning another game with him @ QB this year Book it!!

It's sad to consent to, but I'm finally ready to let go of the hope that Mac is the guy.
We can blame OC a lot, but yesterday there were plenty of plays to be made. And over the last several weeks, a lot of missed guys.
He's only comfortable with the screen passes and check-downs, not really seeing the field.
It may be the change/quality of coaching, but still, wouldn't hurt to see Zappe in a couple games now.
Mac likely can be fixed with a complete overhaul next year, but who knows what stubborn BB will do.

Yeah, last year the Pats had 24 rushing TDs and this year they have 10. By the logic of counting the number of passing TDs of Jones, maybe the Pats should cut Stevenson and let Harris walk.
