What has bothered me most about the 2022 season

Initial signs of dementia......

2011: "Bring Your Child to Work Day" evolves into "Hire Your Child to Coach Day"
Note: Now....an annual event
PS: Read Steve Belichick's Patriots.com coaching bio.
(You too will conclude that Stephon Gilmore should hand over every individual award to Stevie B in appreciation of the former Rutgers long snapper's football acumen)

2019: Install a QB Sneak offense
2020: Wildly overpay for other teams' discards and let a canine make draft picks
2021: Hire the fry cook and dishwasher from the Half-Way House for Schitt-Canned Coaches to "coordinate" a NFL offense
PS: And let the fry cook help with recruitment, contracts, OL, and the lunch buffet

Also worth noting is BB's softening in recent years....

2001-2019: "Brady had some positive plays and some others we'll work on in practice"
2020: "Cam....What a leader, he's our QB"
2021: "We decided not to go for the win because it would have put too much pressure on our Young QB"
2022: "We decide to run the ball on the final play with 3 seconds left and 55 yds from the endzone because we didn't want to expose our 1st round QB's limitations......but how about our defense, Stevie and Brian had that grouping dialed in. They both deserved a game ball"
PS: "I've self-scouted during the bye week and it's abundantly clear I'm not the problem and neither is my Friends & Family staff"

For me it's just one thing.

Bill Belichicks absolute pigheadedness and refusal to own up to the disaster his decisions hsve caused.

He reminds me of every Toronto Maple Leafs coach in the 80s.

After another blowout Leaf loss the coach would say " I saw a lot of positive things out there today"

What bothers me the most is Mac doesn't seem to be the guy.

It might not be his fault, but his skills are too limited to become an emotional wreck every time something doesn't go his way.

The false starts and plays like the last one yesterday reflect his high-strung desperation that has affected the offense.

That is a sign of desperation but the O line and OC are the biggest things holding this offense back.

(Yes, I know Mac had a bad game)

Not sure why you say he doesn't own up to it, he has on several interviews I've heard him on this year.

I agree, but the good/great ones seem to overcome this.

Mac lacks arm speed, avoiding the rush, and is smallish. Bill said at the press conference he couldn't throw a Hail Mary from 60 yards.

He at least needs to be cool under pressure. No game winning drives. Mac doesn't even own intangibles.

It hurts me to say it.

I will say this. If this was any other head coach/gm, they would have likely already been fired. I have always been on the side of Belichick being a genius and the greatest coach of all time, but he has made so many major moves that even bad head coaches and GMs would never even consider doing that I wonder if he lost it or just doesn't care enough anymore.

I believe BB is burned out and that he really misses Ernie Adams.
i think he is burned out as well but also wont stop until he wins more games than that cry baby Don Shula. At this rate, it could be another 3-4 years

Don Schula was an a55hole.

He got me and another guy from Boston kicked out of the media hotel at SB42 because the guy from Boston approached Schula for an autograph.

We just came back in through a different door.

Pats fan for 55 years. I do not like bb but he is the greatest coach of all time.
They need a GM that is not a stooge.
They had no OC and none of this should surprise anyone. Who thought this offense would work as it hasn’t changed much from preseason?
Kraft needs to make a decision and something has to change as u r seeing a similar ending to another big 3 and that did not work out well

I mean not hiring a real OC and instead hiring your buddy who was fired for being incompetent and throwing him in a role he's never done before is beyond just negligent.

Had bill hires a real OC to replace Josh I would think this whole seasons trajectory would be different. Smallest coaching staff in the NFL and quys learning on the fly.

No way Kraft can allow this to continue next year. Coaching staff needs to be turned over

I agree with this, which is why it is as painful as it is necessary to face what is going on here. I am retired. I remember the stress of my declining energy and commitment to my work - which I loved and for which I had gotten many accolades and promotions over the years. I hope the Krafts can contrive a scheme which will either limit the array of Bill's respnsibilities to something he can manage, or find a way to ease him out as painlessly as possible. Thankfully, I was smart enough to go part-time and move out of my supervisory role before such a thing became necessary in my case. A few years later, I retired, happily.

I would love to be in a position to celebrate Bill's many accomplishments, rather than taking painful note of his present failures.
