I Bill making Matt the OC was the beginning of the end for Bill as a HC and the same for Mac as a QB. Bill ended two careers his own and Macs with that hire.
Bill then tried to shield MP from criticism by being secretive about his duties. That hasn't worked either.

Lets look at the big picture:

1. Winning this game would high probability lead to an away playoff game in KC and the second consecutive blowout first round exit
2. THe delusion that "hey BB won a second consecutive playoff game with MAC...we have our franchise QB and the outstanding coaching of Matty P and Joe Judge is working fine
3. Let's let Matty P continue to be OC, we don't need no freaking OC
4. The OL was great today...we do not need an OL coach
5. We do not need any high draft picks, we have our starting 22. Lets trade for future draft picks
6. Kraft telling BB, this season game ball goes to you for leading us to the middle of the pack with no chance to improve....Thank You coach

Big picture....it's good they lost this game as a trigger for meaningful change....BUT did they have to lose it in such buttfumblish embarrassing fashion?

It's also unproductive and unhelpful. It draws attention to himself. It takes his mind away from being focused on the details that matter. It permeates the rest of the offense and sets a lousy tone.

I don't mind your leaders demonstrably showing emotion/passion at times; that can be a good thing. But even in Mac's case, it never strikes me as channeled, healthy expression of energy intended to motivate, organize, uplift, or light a spark under one's ass. Instead it strikes me as unpoised, upset, flustered emotional outbursts.
Not a coincidence that the offense looked the best with Zappe in there. Because Zappe doesn’t care about Patricia and try to make the play work whatever play Patricia called.

Mac believe he is the second coming of Manning and is questioning and complaining about everything instead of accept that it is what it is and make the best of the situation.

Again, I’ll repeat myself. I think Bill wanted to start Zappe because he was more coach able and more encline to make it work with Patricia but he didn’t to avoid a mutiny by Mac camp of Henry, Meyers, Bourne, Andrews and Stevenson. I fully expect this camp to be broken in the offseason. Bourne and Meyers are as good as gone and I think Henry could be too.

The Pats QB play is not good enough and the team is winning by unconventional methods. That is why you saw that wacky play tonight. Meyers was just trying win by a miracle because everyone can see that the NE offense is dysfunctional
The thing is we weren’t losing. There was no need to win with a Miracle. Stevenson just had to fall down or go out of bounds and we would have gone to OT and probably would have won the game.

Neither could Lombardi, Shula, Walsh, Parcells and so on. No coach is great without really good players. Bill admitted that when asked.
If Bill really believes that a coach needs good players to win then why does he let so many go?

I have to add something Brady made everyone around him better, he had this will to win to never accept defeat which he imbued to his team mates. Its an intangible that only a few have.
It's one of the things that makes him great. Here it was considered a problem by some though, even to the point of blaming him for the failure of the worst draft pick of Bill's career (N'Keal Harry) and labelling Brady with the nickname of Temperamental Tommy, as if it was a fault.

How's that working out for Brady this year?
That's a poor question. Brady's team is in first place in their division in spite of the horrible coaching and he'll probably be playing in the playoffs. IOW, better than dumping him has worked out for us.

More than a big playmaker this team needs an offensive leader Last yr a lot of it was provided josh mcdaniels. without brady or edelman, this is ateam of nice guys who are "standup" guys but dont really seem to get pissed about anything. Like this "
Hunter Henry was on the field for the final play and echoed Slater's sentiments on Meyers.

"It's not all on him, man," Henry said. "We all ... We just can't keep having (mistakes) ... I had a few, other guys had a few. We just gotta step up, man. It's not on him at all. It should've never come down to that. It sucks. This one hurts. But it's not all on him. We gotta make plays earlier."

Henry was asked if there was any reminder in the offensive huddle that if the team didn't score, just to maintain possession of the ball and play for overtime.

"We just need to be more clear on that," Henry said. "I'll take responsibility on that. I should probably communicate a little more on that. That's on me. I gotta step up. Especially as a guy who's been around."

Hnery keeps saying after every losss we need need to step up and get better which is great but he drops passes and makes dumb plays like not stepping out of bounds in the vikings games. When will he actually step up.?

We sorely miss an edelman type on this team.
No matter what we have for a gripe it all comes back to Bill.

Salary cap, money. Every team lets players go. He keeps some too (Slater, McCourty, etc.).

Oh really? Have you spoken to Mac? Can you link to an article where he says this?

I'll hang up and listen.

THIS. They make a 1st down on the drive before the LVR TD and we never witness what happened at the end. The clown show at the end is burying what really matters: The Mac Jones led offense sucks ass.

Pats drives: 12
6 Punts (1 blocked)
3 FGs
1 1st half kneel down
1 TD (rushing)
1 clown show drive w/ 32 sec.

This game was the difference between having a 64% chance to make the playoffs or what now is a 22% chance. This is how our 1st RD QB responds? He had good protection. The running game was working. Yet, he completes 42% of his passes? For 112 yds and 0 TDs? 3.6 yds/pass? 3.6? WTF man!

Come on man. Stop your unprofessional histrionics on the field, sack-up and carry the team on your back for a change. I can't believe you guys are fine with a QB that has to rely on shutdown D, TDs by D/ST, and a bunch of FGs to win games. What happened to the Patriots winning standards? Are we now the Jete, Bears, Lions fans? We need to demand better effort from our coaches, and players. Are we really content with these bush league standards? It's embarrassing.
Still, Mac didn't throw that backwards pass at the end. If one of those two guy just fell down, they'd at least go to overtime.

No it's not Mac. You need to QB better not tackle better.

Mac Jones game and his ceiling is now making a hole in the floor. How can anybody defend him??

It’s not a “Mac camp”. It’s an “anti-Patricia who’ve lost faith in Bill camp”. Under the things I never thought I’d see from a BB coached team is open player rebellion, but his decision to go with Patricia and Judge as well change too much too soon of the offense was such a colossal misjudgment that the players have lost faith in Bill. It goes beyond the offensive players too judging by Slater’s embrace of Jones during the kneel downs last Monday night.

I’m just stunned by the acceptance of it by Bill, Matt and Joe. It’s like they’ve given up. Why are they putting up with Jones’ insolence? Get in his face. Bench him. The guys who benched Malcolm Butler (you think that was popular in the locker room?) in the SB for being mouthy are now being yelled at by a 2nd year QB with impunity? What gives?

I’d have ridden the Zappe train until it crashed which I would have fully expected it to do. You think Jones has limitations? Zappe has even more. He’s too damn short to begin with. Jones might be as well which could be one reason why he throws so much off his back foot. Zappe is not the answer. His ceiling is Chase Daniels. Mac’s is Matt Ryan and Kirk Cousins. Guys who’ve carved out good careers for themselves. Ryan should have even won a SB. The goal here is not to go 500; it’s to contend for championships. With very rare exceptions, short 4th rounders aren’t up to that task. Jones might but in his own words he’d need to be coached very hard and would need better perimeter receivers than Agholor and Thornton to have a chance. High-ceiling uber QBs don’t grow on trees. We were lucky to get a prospect as good as Jones in the middle of the 1st round.

Our favorite football team is a huge mess. Don’t get me started on our great D that blew the lead in the final seconds by leaving a 5 foot nothing rookie CB on an island. He should have had over the top help. The kid did his best but was that awful “situational” coaching or what?

But those are two whom he should've let go, as in as early as the 2020 trade deadline.
