He did throw a 39 yard pass to set up a scoring play to bring the Patriots into the lead with a little more than 3 minutes left in the game. That was a pretty clutch play in crunch time. All the Pats had to do is not let the Raiders score (which they really didn’t).
Pats fans used to laugh all the suckbag teams who did stupid things, now we're one of them every since Brady walked out the door.
Tonight was even dumber than the Colts fake punt, who just blindly chucks the ball back 20 yards into the middle of the field with no time left in a tie game?
So the coaches cannot call a draw play in that situation - giving themselves a chance to potentially break a play while minimizing risk - without reasonably expecting their players to not do ... THAT ????
That is squarely on Meyers' shoulders (and to a lesser extent, Rham's).
A 4-year veteran with as much accrued playing time as Meyers (particularly as a former QB) should not need to be told (or reminded) not to do that.
Parcells did a great job in Dallas. Drafted some great players. However, he left a year too early. Had he stayed in 2007, there's no way Romo and Witten go on a vacation prior to the Giants game and come up short against them. Parcells and Belichick go on a collision course to the Super Bowl. Dallas had no business not making the Super Bowl that year. They were stacked.
Miami doesn’t need to lose out, they just need to go 1-2 against Green Bay, New England, NY Jets. Patriots need to go 2-1 with one of the wins being against Miami. Not crazy to imagine the Jets playing hard in the final week with an outside shot at a playoff spot, and Bills may rest starters in final week. It’s entirely possible but a lot less probable than it was with a win today.

BB can only be considered GOAT HC if - and only if - he takes Mac Jones to a Super Bowl and wins? Only under those conditions? All of his other achievements and accomplishments are moot and he will never be considered the GOAT unless BB takes Mac Jones to a Super Bowl and wins?
Craziest loss I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been a fan since 1975. Almost 50 years, never have seen anything like it. Unfortunately Stevenson and Meyers (especially Meyers), will always be remembered for that play. Meyers will never live that down, unless he has a Super Bowl winning catch or something.
This game also showed that Mac isn’t the answer. Stevenson and the defense are the reason the Pats came back and took the lead (briefly). Look, I gave a ****load of blame to Cam Newton when he threw 8 TD passes all year, said it was the worst QBing I’ve seen by the Pats in ages, well Mac has SEVEN (none in the last 2). Granted he missed 4 games, but still. This was supposed to be his 2nd year jump, yet he looks horrendous.
Mac may get one more chance. He was certainly handicapped by coaching and Belichick inexplicably changing an offense that Mac was successful in. They MUST hire an OC/QB coach and MUST get more explosive WR weapons to see if Mac can succeed. Mecole Hardman is a free agent I believe, and Jerry Jeudy is unhappy in Denver I believe (and he played with Mac). These are the type of moves that are necessary. But if they DON’T make these kind of moves, they are doomed for mediocrity for years to come. Oline improvements would be nice too.
Patriots have 12 passing touchdowns, tied for last in the league....in 2020 they had 12 passing touchdowns, tied for last in the league... what's the common factor? Bill Belichick.
