Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Raiders beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

lest we forget, the Pats only scored 20 points on offense vs one of the worst pass defenses in the league and last week only scored 20 points last week vs a similarly terrible AZ pass defense. we're talking TWO touchdowns....TWO!
Facts.

Worse than the fake punt and the butt fumble.
Yeah, now in the top three of the worst, most mind-boggling plays in NFL history.
How did the Pats go from being regarded as one of the, if not the, most disciplined, well coached teams in NFL history to a Clown Circus?

I don't really get efforting such a defense of Mac Jones. He's a bad quarterback right now. There's just no denying it.
You have to accept that there are people on this board that will die on the Mac Jones hill.

Thing is. A season ago we had 10 wins made the playoffs and a promising rookie QB who had 22 tds. You want to see growth.

Instead, We have gone backwards in every category. And this is pretty much on the coaching staff. And really on Bill for putting Patricia and Judge in the roles.

Big changes need to happen this off-season

Thankfully I don't think it's too late to fix Mac. Big changes are needed though and it starts with OC.

Results wise this season is pretty much a lost one, which isn't particularly heart breaking as my expecations weren't high to begin with. but it wasn't a complete waste at least. Some of the rookies really showed up this year, 3rd good draft in a row looks like. Uche and Onwenu became big contributors. Defensively we could be building something special here. We need a good offseason on the offensive side, we need talent and we need an offensive mind.

I cannot be the only one who, after 20 years of dominance and 6 SB's, said we are playing with house money as fans. Nothing else matters.

They are putting it to the test though.

I was seriously upset after the Miami bullshyt when Gronk attempted to play defense. But that was a high stakes game. And that loss did allow us to lose HFA and then beat the Chiefs in KC. So in the end, it was worth it.

But this one doesn't even upset me. Maybe I just don't see this team as a playoff team anyway. Or maybe I really am content after a 20 year run no other fans have ever seen.

Maybe I'm just filled with Christmas spirit (and some alcohol).

Blame the coaches all you want and they deserve their share but you cant let the players off the hook like this. Cant coach "dont be stupid" . At what point do we blame this stupid set of players with no leadership who are always whining about playcalls and penalties and yet cant execute a simple call to get down and get to OT ? You really tthink if they called a hail mary these morons wouldve executed it correctly ? More likely they woulde been sacked or turned the ball over and you would blame the staff again.
There is a reason our offense is so simple and putrid. OC is out of his depth and players cant execute anything that is called. its both.
you absolutely CAN coach don't be stupid.

We had 20 years of don't be stupid with coaches who had attention to detail

Matty P has run the offense and the oline into the ground

Marcus Jones is a stud.

Rham had a great game, but why pitch it. And Jakobi nothing good is going to happen any time you run 8 yards back and then pass it 10 yards back. Stupid.

I don't really get efforting such a defense of Mac Jones. He's a bad quarterback right now. There's just no denying it.
The team is bad right now. There is no denying.

I'm not even sold on Mac tbh, but I'm not going to just listen to lazy takes. Here's a problem. The entire offense except one player has regressed. Maybe address that first before you start putting it all on the QB. Especially when the same suspects were saying it was all on Brady in 2019.

Anyways the truth is, that some people won't like to here....

1. The team lost more talent in the off season than they brought in. Anybody who didn't know that had total blinders on. Seeing a regression isn't shocking.

2. Matt Patricia was a major questionable decision before this season and has done nothing but proven to be the biggest mistake Belichick has ever made.

When everyone on the offense regressed.... you can't even begin to say "oh it's definitely this player or that player". Every player is on a slump there.

it looks like the Pats will be all 1 pm games next year, no Saturday night game and the required Thursday/Monday games....how Belichick has let the mighty fall

The question no one is asking is really about Stevenson's first lateral. Was it designed by Patricia? Did he go rogue?

I somehow doubt he went rogue because Patricia was clapping up a storm

I disagree. The top part of the foot at that angle over the line doesn't meant he's out. Its the part that's on the ground that matters. I didn't see the game or the replays but that picture doesn't look out of bounds. I'll change my mind if I see other pics

clearly out, now admit you are wrong

Before this season start, I was thinking we would be an 8-9 team. I have a long standing track record of being hypercritical of Bill to the point I have received warnings from our admins. I watch a ton of nfl football and I was actually coming around to the idea that we were playoff bound this year and heading for 9-8, 10-7. I have been somewhat impressed lately watching the Pats grind out wins. I think Bill has done a stellar job on the defensive end as is usual. This team is slightly above average this year but extremely solid and competitive as always under BB. We won’t go into the offense which is a bit challenged to put it mildly. That was simply a boneheaded play by Jakobi. Like once in a lifetime level screwup. You cannot blame Mac for that either. You trying tackling freight train chandler jones. Anyway, we’re back on the 8-9 trajectory. Not horrendous, but certainly in the slightly above average range. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. We are spoiled fans after two decades of total dominance.
After mason was traded for a bag of balls, mcdaniels left (taking coaches with him) the strange trade and fat matt being named as OC i thought this is what would happen. That the team would be 7-10 or 8-9. Kraft needs to lay down the law with BB, get rid of his kids and his buddys like fat matt and the player personal decisions which have been poor, and hire a gm.
