It's easy, and only takes a few moments.criticised Patricia in the TC for the ****ty playcalling/play design, got in the dog house bc no new input is allowed with such ****heads like Judge and Patricia and so the offense seems the worst in the league when it comes to scoring in RZ, guess Bourne might have had a point there with blaming Patricia (internally) for the output already in the TCYa, something weird happened with Bourne over the offseason. Might be awhile before we find out what it was.
Belichick and Co. overdue it when comes to absolutely controlling the narrative from their players. Whatever it was that Bourne said critically about the offense hasn't been worth the coaching staff retaliating against him for an entire season to the detriment of the offense. What is it? Their egos won't allow them to just move along and go forward with the players who maximize the team's chances of success? We've seen this act before and it rarely if ever is in the best interest of the team.criticised Patricia in the TC for the ****ty playcalling/play design, got in the dog house bc no new input is allowed with such ****heads like Judge and Patricia and so the offense seems the worst in the league when it comes to scoring in RZ, guess Bourne might have had a point there with blaming Patricia (internally) for the output already in the TC
Bourne has 2 penalties on the entire season. Both in the first half of the Detroit game, which they won 29-0. So I think you're being a bit harsh.I stopped defending Bourne when he kept squandering his few opportunities he was given with boneheaded penalties, etc
Ignoring other factors and just drawing your own conclusions to theses numbers I see. It's bizarre usage by the coaching staff. Bourne isn't getting the requisite number of snaps or targets. His snap% is down from 52% in 2021 to 43% in 2022. His targets are down nearly in half from 4.1 to 2.4 per game. His catch% is essentially unchanged (78.6% to 75%). He isn't seeing the field enough and not enough of those plays are designed to go to him.
The rookie Thornton, who's pretty useless, has had only 3 less targets than Bourne (21 for Thornton and 24 for Bourne). Yet Thornton has a much lower catch% at 47.6% and a higher snap% at 57%. Hmm... go figure.
Bourne's drop in production falls on the coaching staff, most presumably on Patricia who predictably has been a SERIOUS LIABILITY in his new role.
More at fault than the coaching staff?Bourne has been very disappointing.
Well, to some extent Parker has taken a lot of his volume. I bet if you look at Parker’s stats through week 12 they’d look similar to what Bourne’s looked like for 2021.Ya, something weird happened with Bourne over the offseason. Might be awhile before we find out what it was.
How dare Matty P give those reps to a better player. He should be burned at the stakes.Well, to some extent Parker has taken a lot of his volume. I bet if you look at Parker’s stats through week 12 they’d look similar to what Bourne’s looked like for 2021.
Edit: I looked it up, Parker is at 21 for 420 yards and 1 TD. So obviously not the same (many fewer receptions but not way off in yards), but he missed games as well.
I believe thornton can Play but they need to use him differently. He has 8,6 yards per reception for our fastest WR who is supposed to stretch the Field. But his lack of targets have obv also sth to do with his catching issues and mac inable to throw downfield accurateIt's bizarre usage by the coaching staff. I agree with your takes on Bourne, i blame patricia for this and rightfully so. Bourne has showed last year he can Play and work in this offense until they changed somerhing and the whole offense started to stink esp the redzone and passing Game.Bourne's drop in production falls on the coaching staff, most presumably on Patricia who predictably has been a SERIOUS LIABILITY in his new role.
More probably never..Ya, something weird happened with Bourne over the offseason. Might be awhile before we find out what it was.
So all the chatter about Bourne being in Patricia's doghouse is made up?There is no conspiracy the coaches aren't holding him back he just needs to start playing better.
Overblown yes and why is it Patricia's fault he's in the doghouse and not Bourne's fault himself? So all the chatter about Bourne being in Patricia's doghouse is made up?
Seems pretty clear Bourne's opportunities have been limited due to reasons beyond player performance.
Also, I understand the overall competition of the receiver room however the fact remains Thornton has been unproductive yet he's getting more looks than Bourne.
Reportedly Bourne was critical of Patricia's implementation of the new offense in the preseason. Then there was a report of Patricia and/or Belichick in a heated exchange with Bourne in the preseason.Overblown yes and why is it Patricia's fault he's in the doghouse and not Bourne's fault himself?
Seems pretty clear Bourne's opportunities have been limited due specifically to performance. Have you heard reports of anything off field that would have caused this? What other reason would it be?
There aren't many players on the Patriots offense who are putting up numbers this year in terms of receiving. Stevenson leads the team in receptions with 50, then Meyers with 47, then it's just a bunch of guys in the low 20s and teens, Bourne among them. Our 2nd leading Wide receiver is Agholor with 23 catches, and Bourne is only 5 behind him. I think he's a victim of the whole offense struggling for most of the season.
All of thisReportedly Bourne was critical of Patricia's implementation of the new offense in the preseason. Then there was a report of Patricia and/or Belichick in a heated exchange with Bourne in the preseason.
Bourne looks fine to me. His snaps and targets are down this season, that's irrefutable. It's also true that the quarterback play hasn't been good. Bourne was the team's best WR in 2021. He hasn't been given the requisite opportunity in 2022.
