THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

If im a jet defender it’s taking every ounce of my energy to not obliterate that annoying *** face of his.

Bad enough hes a douche who is costing the team wins and takes no accountability for it, but he also just has to have the most punchable face I’ve seen in years

I saw it a bit differently, the yards that backs did gain was off thier own ability, we have 2 powerful bruising backs, the line was bad, not taking anything away from the jets ferocious front.. also no Trent Brown, the line just looks in disarray, no cohesion.. Mac wasn't the issue.. he made enough plays to get in scoring position.. inside the 5 and BB decided not to got for it.. on 4th down.. cost us 6..

Then mysteriously goes for it on 4 and 3 inside your own 45..

Trollin crying about this play. Figures.

Why is this even a debate? It would be as ticky-tack a foul as it gets and it didn’t help Jones get to the end zone. I doubt there’s even one official who would throw a flag on this.

Trollin should stick to reporting on fake DMs he’s good at that.

Offensive line I'm sure will be the top priority this off-season. Put a formidable line in front of Mac and I'm confident he can be a long term franchise QB. Dude played well vs the Jets despite having pathetic protection.
! He made plenty of plays enough to put the team in scoring position, the entire offense has been hampered by coaching, I used to think it was play calling but it's clearly coaching.. play calling isn't terrible it's just no cohesion on the line at all.. that goes back to coaching..

It was a clear block in the back as the Jets player went forward and this crap gets called a lot even though it had no bearing on the play. The point is Mack Wilson did not need to give the refs a reason to throw a flag and he would’ve taken a lot of heat had they thrown it.

Ya, I understand, I believe pees was more of he was going to retire and that move was sort of health related if I remember correctly. BB rarely if any demotes his staff, it's alot easier to do it with players because they are under contract and good reasoning can be used when negotiating with thier agents.. if thier play isn't up to Parr, there we're plenty of choices as u mentioned Caley, O'brien, on that front from the reports. were he didn't want to void his contract with Saban and not have a clearly defined role.

Patricia is performing 3 different roles. Senior football advisor, O line coach, play caller.. that is a ton of responsibility for 1 person.. if the line can perform to basic NFL standards we'd have more success. Also Trent Brown was benched he was actually the least of the problems on the line..
I could definitely be wrong, but I think the health thing was a smoke screen and Pees ended up DC in Baltimore. I think it was after this that Bill stopped naming OC and DC for as long as he could so that he could move them up or out without it being a big deal.

That photo is misleading. Because it's a split-second late. Here's the actual moment that Wilson makes contact with the Jet defender.

As you (as we all) can see, he hits him in the shoulder first. Of course a split second after that, it's in the back, but the very FIRST contact is on the side, on the shoulder. Totally legal.

WAYYYY too close for Wilson to be making that hit, as it didn't help Jones at all, and was a totally unnecessary risk. But you can see the first contact at least is legal.

Here is the relevant frame to focus on regarding the "controversial" block. This is the instant when the block was initiated.

Note contact was clearly on the side. The blocker's head was even in front of the left shoulder of the would-be tackler.

This is 100% a legal block

Yeah that could be, I know the whole naming positions to coaches has more to do with thier salary, as you know a good OC or DC still commands a 2,3 million salary in the NFL.. so that's where that came from.. I do remember pees going to Baltimore, there was also schiano who took the D coordinator job and then resigned.. that was very odd.. for as long tenured as he was I still feel like crennel and Flores were the best defensive coaches here..

The player went forward because he was running at full speed. The hit was clearly not from behind.

A little from column A, a little from column B. I thought it was interesting (and everyone is welcome to think it's ********) that Steve Belichick recently said that he doesn't worry about whether he only got the (non-named) DC job because of his dad because his dad would have no problem canning his ass if he wasn't up to the job.

All this was known about him WHEN they drafted him.

There were a lot of stories coming out about him at BYU and they appear to be true.

This is who he is.

He's another Josh Rosen.

Marcus Jones won the game yesterday... Our place-kicking unit didn't help win it, and aside from one downed at the 5, our punting unit really didn't either.
Interesting. Nobody had to block for Jones?

Lol.. yeah that's funny.. I think Steve has done a pretty good job coaching with the help of mayo who is a dam good coach also.. if Patricia and judge aren't fired yet safe to say his son who's running a dam good defense is pretty safe..

It's crazy how he looks and talks just like his father..

Here's a frame from the opposite angle. Looks to me like Wilson's left arm is in front of the Jet's player when contact is first made:

What was Mac's average time to throw last year? Hint: it was less than 2.93 seconds.

As it is this year. Last figure I saw for the season was 2.8 - for the previous Jets game it was 2.5 and for this Jets game it was 2.53. That's quick.

The player went forward because he was running at full speed. The hit was clearly not from behind.
Plus he was leaning forward at the time the block began (see frame I posted above).

When you are leaning forward and running fast, a push from the side will make you fall forward every time.
