Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Jets

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

It’s about scoring points, not stats. The stats make Mac Jones look good. But the Jets defense was giving him that. They completely dominated our offense. And, yes, they’re good but not the second coming of the ‘86 Bears.

1. Need a real OC
2. Need to not play Ferentz
3. Need to play a QB not named Mac Jones. Bench him Thursday for Zappe. QB Jones has regressed too much this year. And it’s more than the coaching. He needs better protection. Zappe makes magic happen.
Agreed with most of what u stated however I still feel like Let Mac continue to play, now of course if he starts becoming the reason we loose then I'm open to zappe.. however I'm with you all the way on 1 & 2.. there was really no tape on Zappe so defenses didn't really know what to expect, alot has been put on Mac's plate.. I just wish BB kept the same offense the entirety of the offense has faltered this season far beyond mac.Mac..

Bunch of people here saying Mac is at fault for most of the sacks. The clock disagrees:

There were plenty of times he had time. He either needs to process information quicker, or the play design is terrible. Too many plays show guys running in the same area.

I think he needs to work at learning how to throw it away at the feet of a receiver or runningback, too.

Huge win for our playoff outlook.

4-3 down the stretch should get us in.
You’ve seen the schedule. Where do you think the 4 wins come from? I think blowing that Packers game could cost us.

@ Cardinals and Raiders we have to take for granted to have any chance imo.

Then we need to beat two of @Vikings, Bengals/Dolphins at home.

Bills I’m chalking up two L’s, they’re a little bit off their game but rushing QB’s cause us worlds of hurt and their offense is just too good overall.

Love to have hope but it’s gonna be tough and I think we’re just worsening our draft picks tbh

I'm not as ready to chalk in two losses to the Bills as I was at the beginning of the season. They lost to the Jets and our defense is as good as the Jets and our offense is better.

fair, I think we’ll struggle to contain them for the full game even with our defence.

Bills have been in a mini lull and probably should’ve been 3 scores behind yesterday had the browns not shat the bed, but they are the best team in the league (vomit) and I still have nightmares of last season’s rematch.

A shock win against them would help our playoff hopes massively.

Offsetting penalties = re-kick.
That is what I thought, and it's a little bit crazy, because let's say you see a flag for blocking in the back at the 20 yard line on a big play like that, then the kicking team is automatically rewarded IF they immediately commit a personal foul before the player gets in the end zone.

Until we can contain Diggs we will struggle against Buffalo, allen/Diggs combination is just too good.. Allen break downs the toughest defenses.. you'd think BB could devise a game plan to deal with Allen. He's a dynamic player

Oh yeah, I'm not saying it's a slam dunk. I think we'll struggle mightily and probably lose, but I'm just not as quick to concede two losses as I was when the Bills looked unstoppable. Plus you never know when weather will play a factor.

The offensive line was a mess yesterday.

This one they looked like they were pass blocking?

I think the tweeters are wrong on all 3 counts.

On the first, I don't see the screen pass. I think Cajuste just couldn't deal with the inside move. It's supposed to be a quick curl but the Jets defenders are on it and have blanketed the 2 Patriots. 3rd option is Rham but Mac can't get to him in time because the right side of the line has collapsed.

On the second play, what's missing is that Mac changed the play and called an audible. It's a delayed draw play. The line is supposed to look like they're passblocking. If anything is wrong here, it's Mac not selling the draw by faking the pass.

On the third play, Ferentz just gets blown back which prevents Rham from getting into the space to find his lane. He's so far back that by the time he makes his cut, it's too late.

I don't put the first two on the coaches, and maybe only put the last one on the coaches because they should've known that Ferentz is incapable.

But in all 3 instances the players fail to execute: #1 Cajuste blows it. #2 Mac doesn't allow the delayed draw to develop. #3 Ferentz fails.

I respectfully disagree. The offense got it in position to try for three field goals and only made one. The Jets made it in position to try for one and made it. Clearly we were the better offense on the field, it just didn't turn up in the points.
I disrespectfully disagree. *slaps you in the face with a glove* We need to be evaluating our offense in a vacuum and not in comparison to another extremely feeble offense.

You know what’s embarrassing?
So-called “fans” who can’t enjoy a win …for a single hour, much less a day…against a division foe and hated franchise that dumps that franchise into last place while helping the Pats playoff hopes, all during a rebuilding year.
I guess it’s really Ian’s fault…. If only there where 3 or 4 other threads where posters could complain non-stop about Mac Jones/ Patricia/ OL/ [fill in the blank]

Yes absolutely! Just like the crazy amount of snow Buffalo got this past weekend! But I hear ya, I often wondered why we never doubled Diggs, I'd like to see Diggs taken away and make Allen have to go elsewhere.. I feel like where we can have success against the bills happens to be our Achilles right now wich is scoring.. thier defense isn't as strong as it was earlier in the season..

Well, we'll see a better offense on Thursday.

Well, we can see why they kept Wynn even with how bad/unreliable he’s been. Cajuste, Ferentz, and Strange were all absolutely terrible yesterday. The first two are to be expected. Strange has been pretty bad for the last 4-5 weeks. There are times when he pulls and just doesn’t block anyone. Anyone who wants to look at the offense’s problems can start right there. They had better get it figured out soon, or there’s the very real possibility that the team will “David Carr” Mac’s career.

Defensively, there’s not much to be unhappy about. We will know more about just how good that unit is in the next few weeks as we head down the stretch.

Finally, anyone who complains about the value the team puts into our ST units can go ahead and shut the hell up now. ST can, and just did, win games.
