Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Evans makes me want to pull my hair out. You see flashes of brilliance but then he has these brain farts. He just can't take over and win games like Kupp, Hill, Gronk, and Edelman.

But,... him and Brady have that potential to have a monster game. Lots of points were left on the field between Evans and Brady the last couple games. A couple better passes, better communication, and no dropped passes and Evans could have had 400 yards and 3TD the last two games alone.
Evans is limited to outside the numbers and downfield passes. But he's usually great in the red zone where it's just not working out for any of their receivers this season. Godwin is yet to find the end zone.

"Las Vegas completely derailed, losing 24-0 in the franchise's first shutout since 2014. The Raiders (2-5) didn't even cross midfield until two minutes remained in the fourth quarter. Derek Carr's feeble play in 2022 reached a new low, with 101 passing yards on 26 attempts -- 3.9 yards per throw doesn't exactly cut it."

I have a suspicion that Vegas might try mightily to convince Brady not to retire. They'd have to trade that mf though, perhaps to the Bucs.

Nice job by Tampa throwing the season away can’t bring in any help and don’t fire that idiot on the sidelines good luck

Season is already over unless you consider making the playoffs a win. I would of thought they unloaded a few players but first year head coach won't want to do it and lets face it, who wants Devin White anyways.

How can anyone not be impressed with that? The extra game and pass focused league rules will probably end up having some quarterbacks surpassing his regular season record but his playoff and superbowl records might never be beaten

Admittedly it's a bit deceiving, due to byes and whatnot, but Brady leads the NFL in passing currently. He also has a Ludacris INT% of 0.3%, which would be an all-time single season record. He has 315 consecutive pass attempts without an INT... the NFL record is 405 set by Rodgers... if Brady can get through the Rams' defense without a pick then there's a good chance he'll set a new record, which would be an impressive feat while everyone is ragging on him.
One of the more fascinating things about Brady is that when I look at him I judge him by his play and I don't even think of him as 45.

What has happened to White? He went from a dominant force to invisible almost overnight.

White and much of team haven't been as good this year as follows:

Hicks < Suh
JTS < JPP
Godwin < preinjury Godwon
Brady = 2019 Brady < 2020/2021 Brady
Fournette< 2020/2021 Fournette
LG < Marpet
Hainsey < Jenson
TEs< Gronk
Gage < pre Jumping Jack AB
Bowles< BA
Leftwhich< Leftwhich with BA red marker
Nelson < Shaq

Considering how the team has regressed in numerous areas, just making the playoffs is a win. There has been a huge dropoff. Even if the OL improves which will help Brady, the passing game, and running games,.. it would still be very hard to go deep in the playoffs.

I think they could still win the NFC if they had got rid of Leftwich they still have a chance with the injured guys coming back. I’ll keep trusting Brady

Brady coming back for this season made it much harder to break most of his major regular season records.

However, one day they'll go to 18 games and the rules keep on changing to flag football rules on the QB. Anyone sacking a QB is increasingly at risk of rtp plus they get fined. Several young stud QB playing today will be breaking records with 20 years as a starter.

Something is wrong with profootballs HOF metrics showing that Brady only has passed Manning this year.

They overemphasize the AP voted by media and underemphasize playoff performance/championship.

Also Rodgers ball washing wasn't anywhere near Manning's when looking at the number of AP.

Winning the division is the goal at this point. Host a playoff game and see what happens.

Lol the Rams are about to blow them out.
Check out Kupp in particular vs the Bucs

I think you’ve made your feelings clear.
I don't like being the Debbie downer on any topic really, but the Bucs are really a bad football team right now. Can that change? Maybe, but I've yet to see them play a good game since Week 1 honestly.

Other than the Chiefs game, they could have easily won the rest of those game if they didn't keep on breaking down in key critical moments. They've had some bad luck, some brain farts, some bad calls and execution in the red zone and 3 or 4 and 1 situations. Plus a boatload of injuries.

I think it will balance out and things will start going their way. They'll end the season at 8-9 to 10-7.
