The Governor is from Buffalo, so downstate taxpayers (where most of the tax money comes from) are subsidizing the Pegulas‘ little venture.
Who paid for Yankee Stadium and Citi Field?

Is it just wide right of the old stadium?

I’ve always admired Kraft for not using public funds

It wasn’t upstate taxpayers.
???

$440m for Citi Field is public money but not from NY City. It's from the entire state.
$235m for Yankee Stadium.

Combined total of $1.8B in public subsidy, with $1.1B coming from NYC and MTA.

@upstater1

this article gives a good recap of what has been spent on stadiums in new york

Investigative Post is citing the same guy I read but they mangled the #s.

Check out Mause's PDF here:

Those were bonds that the teams are paying for... state contributions are much less...
The buffalo money is going to be the same.

Foregone taxes, etc. It's going to be built the same way.

It hasn't even been agreed to yet.

But the structure will be similar

The response in Buffalo has been very mixed.

The team says those overhangs will cover 60% of the seats. Not sure how that looks possible.

Usually they would use a barn to house a bunch of animals, but somehow it looks like the Bills fans will get a nice stadium.

Like building a mansion in a trailer park.
Oddly enough, Buffalo has more Gilded Age mansions than almost any American city. There are lots of mansions around here in the city.

Where are the bildos ??
