Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Lol what a horrible game. They're a bad football team right now

Yeah. I’m out of the equivocation zone. They just aren’t good. Can it change? Yeah maybe, funny enough they’ll still be first in their division. But today? Recently? Bad.

It can change it's a long season after all, but at this moment they're a terrible team. They've lost back to back games vs teams with 1 win at the time they played them

Very 2009 Pats vibes of indifference, not getting it, mental lapses, and other intangibles.

Hard one to figure, especially after last week. Losing two straight to poor teams suggests a systemic problem which points to Bowles.

Yeah it’s nuts. At least with Pittsburgh you could maybe argue there was a Trap Game factor. They’ve been trying to win all season and they really hate Brady so they were super motivated. Etc. But this? The Panthers are TRYING to tank.

A divisional game is never a toss up, but they should've won this one.

There is clearly a systematic issue.
It's really bad when Ben McAdoo calls a better game than your OC.

Tampa really needed to change their game plan to the "Bailey Zappe" offense when it was clear the original game plan wasn't working.

But, nope, they just stuck with what wasn't working.

They can't gain 1 yard when they need to that's how bad it's been.

QB throws over 60% and almost 300 yds. It's a team problem, starting with the entire coaching staff. Astounds me that Bruce was clearly better.

We saw Bowles coach da Jete. He started out good there (10-6) but it went all downhill game by game after that, and he seemed unable to do anything about it.

Too much reliance on Tom slingin' it downfield. They didn't rush the ball well but only had 16 attempts.

They move the ball every game pretty well every game but it's not translating to points.

Yeah. If you want a really simplistic explanation for this mess, the closest there is I think is that the complete non-factor of a run game is causing every drive to inevitably bog down. No QB can be asked to get 75 yards through the air over and over and over.

49 times.

Hey, it just occurred to me that because he stayed under 50 his bats.hit insane winning percentage while throwing 50 or more passes isn’t hurt. Silver linings!

Second week in a row where this is true. Football is 'spotted to be entertainment, not excruciating torture.
I need my safe space!

I had to stop watching. Once again, it was a full team failure. This has gone from a great team that just needed to work things out, to one that's a genuinely bad football team right now.

They can if they have guys designed to move the chains like (for instance) Edelman, Amandola and Gronk, and their game plan uses them in the good old dink-and-dunk scheme. This keeps the LBers moving back into coverage instead of teeing off on rushing or run-blocking. Tampa lives and dies by the big play. If they can't hit it (and they couldn't today), they have no Plan B.

Well at least I can root against teams still. So go Commanders and 49ers.
