I'm all for whoever wins, really.
Lol, he's not a lump of clay man. The coaches let him cook in college because they saw what he could do and how fast he processed the game. He got progressively better year to year and game to game. He was calling his own plays at the line. Pat coaches cut him loose in this game as it went on. They can see his ability and would be fools not to exploit it.I feel like you know Bill’s wheels are turning. Zappe is doing all the most important things very well and the other stuff can be improved on with time. He’s just doing what the coaches tell him. He’s a moldable lump of clay with no brand or status attached. That’s a one way ticket to The Patriot Way 2.0.
Rohan Davey has 2 SB rings!!!And I think BB's draft history with QB's has been amazing. Two of his mid round picks started this game. Two others are starters elsewhere. And two are NFL head coaches. Even Danny Etling is still in the league.

I've got a thing I just wrote for the morning about this, but I think Zappe's changed the game a bit and while the ball is in Jones' court, it's up to him to keep it there. I think he'll be given the reigns once he can play (I said a while ago I thought it would be next week, and that's what I'm anticipating) but the amount of leeway he may have had previously has probably changed drastically given what we've seen these last few games. Here's what I think is Mac's saving grace compared to Drew.
1) Belichick drafted Mac. He had no attachment to Drew.
2) More importantly, 2001 was Drew's 9th season in the NFL. The book was already in on his strengths and weaknesses. Mac has one season and a very small part of another to base any evaluation on.
Unless Belichick feels very strongly about what he's seen from Zappe, Mac's going to have to fall flat on his face for a full season before he'd be replaced.
I think the difference lies in professional snaps but why include that in your twist.BTW, Mac is 7.6 months older than Bailey, so we're not talking about a breadth of experience difference here.
Mac had 556 attempts in 3 yrs at Bama (402 Sr. Yr). Bailey had 686 attempts in his one year at Western Kentucky. Lol
Mac has a year as an NFL starter & Zappe is a rookie. Their college play is relevant. He shows all the traits that an NFL QB should have: poise, confidence, fast processing, good decisions, protect the ball & accuracy. Zappe is the better passer despite having less experience. That is crystal clear.I think the difference lies in professional snaps but why include that in your twist.
Who knows he was turning the ball over a lot. I think Mac should still be the starter, but it's good to know you can win games with ZappeI'm kind of in on the Zappe bandwagon. Feel bad for Mac for missing games he probably also would have looked great in.
Yeah Coach is very uncomfortable... Zappe was flying first class.I wonder how the plane ride back was for Mac. Probably uncomfortable.
Pocket awareness is absolutely killer and his fundamentals are good. Finds the open man, he sees the field well. Throws are generally pretty accurate and he has made several different types of throws. Haven’t really seen a true deep shot yet where he needs to move it 40-50 yards in the air that I can think of. But having a guy with great pocket movement, good fundamentals and field vision and solid accuracy/arm can get it done. Long term, would depend on how much mentally he can stack up year over year with reading defenses and manipulating things. I don’t know offhand how sharp he is. Comes off as an intelligent kid in the pressers.
Cle’s run D…I certainly did not expect over 30 attempts and 300 yards (and multiple passing TDs) from Mr Zappe today.
