Hoyer ready to have “fun”

Are you ready to win dude?
Nobody expects Hoyer to win. There is no pressure and it's not as if Hoyer is replacing Tom Brady.

Hoyer could be out of football for good next year. His opportunities to see live action are long past few and far between.

The status on Guy bears watching.

I think the enthusiasm over D Wise is a little excessive. He was going against a rookie playing out if position, and then no one but me seems to notice he lost his mojo at game’s end. Go back and watch Lamar’s rushing TD. Wise is no stamina champion.

We really need another DE who can set the edge to rotate with Judon, a stud, and Wise, a meh player who can make plays every now and again.

Wise may lose some of the weight he put on during the off-season.

Will Uche be a factor? Other than a sack in Miami he has been his normal disappearing self. Josh Uche couldn’t set the edge even in college, which is why he was a third down pass rusher when it was long.

This front seven ain’t nothing special.

Listened to the locked on Patriots crossover podcast with the Packers host and they really focused on how the Patriots are not good against the run. Do other people think that is true? I thought the defense has been good against the run save for Jackson running wild against them. IMO the run defense was good in the first two games.

I don't expect the Packers to run all over the Pats like they were saying on the podcast.

I mean, Pats are certainly going in with a "nothing to lose" attitude. There's no pressure, the whole world has chalked this up as a loss (me included). But, if they play sharp and throw in a few unexpected plays (fake punt, half-back pass) and grab a couple turnovers, we could surprise GB - they're not clicking yet either. Even if they're competitive and lose, Lions, Browns & Bears are win-able with Hoyer. Say we're 3-4 and Mac comes back week 8 against the Jets to knock the rust off, we could easily be 4-4 and still have a shot this season.

Let's say Axel Hoyer looks really really good and our Offensive players respond to hm *cough* Henry and Smith and we go on some sort of a streak...does Mac get the Starting Job back when healthy?? I believe in Axel going forwad. :)

I think Mac is going to learn a lot from sitting his latest injury might be a blessing in disguilse for him.

That's kind of how I've seen things too. Right now the Patriots are 21st in YPC allowed at 4.8. If you take away Lamar Jackson's 11 carries for 107 yards, they jump up to 11 at 3.95. Obviously that's a somewhat flawed exercise because I'm not accounting for any other team's QB rush numbers, but very few of teams have played someone like Lamar Jackson to skew the numbers.

I don't think their run defense is elite by any means, but from the eye test strictly against RB's? 11th seems about right to me.

Very interesting:

Insane! How is this possible? And, is it even wise or necessary to have him play? I still think he won't. I could see them dressing Mac, and then not having him go. I'm not sure I understand the thinking with this whole thing, but even if the ankle ends up being not as bad to deal with, there's no question it's a smarter long term move to give him 2 weeks (ie: playing vs. Lions)

I was hoping a Month one can't be too careful we are going to be playing some sisters of the poor Teams.

Maybe he’s pulling a Paul Pierce?

That's because people like that are hot takez merchants and saw the last game. Which Jackson does that to a lot of people, "The best team in the nfl dolphins" let him run for yards than Pats did.

Najee Harris had 15 rushes for 49 yards and his longest run was 8 yards
Edmunds & Mostert had 17 rushes for 41 yards and the longest run was 11 yards

So I wouldn't say it was bad, if it was bad bad I feel like Harris would have had a better showing., Same thing with Edmunds and Mostert not like any of those guys suck, they've been decent to good players.

Ravens game skews it, it wasn't good if you like at the stats but 100 of that came from Jackson and 2-3 of his runs accounted for more most of his yards. If you take of Jackson Ravens run game was 15 for 81 and 35 of those came on 1 run.

Pats run d gave up a few long runs is the story of that one and it didn't that help Dugger and McMillan were out. Dugger plays I really think Jackson doesn't have as good a game running.
