I pointed this out during the offseason. This generation of young players is way different than the old Patriots Way players. Edelman alluded to this last season. The team lost it's #1 leader & the remnants of the old dynasty are few (Slater, McC).
The organization has to adapt to the new personnel or it dies. BB is 70 yo & was never up on SM or technology. He's a dinosaur out of touch w/ what interests these young guys. Patricia is cut from the same cloth. The draconian ways won't work going forward. You can see how BB is trying to change (apologizing to media, public pep talks about players, excuses & more excuses, letting players go wild on SM) but he won't connect with these players. He's just too old. The generational gap is too wide.
I get that the old timers here believe that what worked for 18 years can continue to work (no .changes required). There's a reason no NFL coach has been successful in their 70s. The oldest coach to win a SB is Bruce Arians at 68.34 years (Halas won the championship at 68.9 years).
