Yeah, the two players I'd like to see further down the depth chart are Bryant and Tavai. Just seems like nothing but bad happens when their involved and it happened again yesterday with Bryant being front and center.

I don't get what they see in Tavai. I have never seen anything he seems to excel at and yet he keeps playing over other guys.

Didn't help that Raekwon McMillian absolutely sucking yesterday gave Little Billy & Phatt Matt the excuse to use Jalopy Tavai later in the game ... Dam shame, because I was one of his champions...

The more I think about Bourne only in for 2 plays the more pissed off I get. He is arguably the most dynamic playmaker on offense and a leader on the field that fires the guys up with his emotion. Not having him in there was a colossal mistake by one or more of the coaches. Whatever their reason was for not playing him...they need to get over it and move forward NOW.
Listening to Bourne after the game, it seems he doesn't even know why. That's just a terrible way to communicate w/ your players. If the coaches gave an issue w/ him then tell him what it is so he can correct it. Too many BS games being played.

Makes me wonder if it's because of off-field issues like his extremely active SM, being a Jesus freak on it, promoting himself, & talking to the media at nauseum (being opinionated). I said this during the offseason, how Bill had changed by letting some players (Bourne, Judon) act in an atypical Patriots way. Anyway, just conjecture.

They better try their hardest to pull out a win next week because Jackson and Baltimore won't be fun the week after.

Parker is pushing off.

Reaching up for the ball would have been a more convincing performance for PI.
Parker looked lazy and lackadaisical on that play and most of the game. But he's much better than playing Bourne in the Coaching staffs minds. Dolphin fans after the play.

Really surprised that Dugger is not number 1. He really stood out and made some nice plays.

Back spasms for Mac... that's what Gronk was dealing with for a while right?

Gronk is a different thing. He herniated his disc in college that required surgery and got it again in 2013. Unconfirmed rumors say he has spinal stenosis. He and Drew Rosenhaus have repeatedly denied it, but the rumors have always persisted.

Mac looks to have spasms based on the one hit. If there is no spine or disc damage, his pain will likely be short term and non-recurring.

Brady has nothing to do with this team.

People keep trying to justify Mac Jones awful play by rationalizing that the Pats were not winning in Miami anyway. Trubisky isnt going to the HOF just like Tua and look what Tua just did. I have no faith in Mac Jones coming back from a big deficit.
You wouldn't have any faith in Brady coming back from a huge deficit in 2001 either. This is Mac's second year. Brady didn't even start his 1st year. Give him a chance dude.

They are right in my book thought D Wise had a Great Game. Did Davon Godonlyknows make a tackle?? The way BB hyped him up the preseason I thought he would be the second coming.

more pile on from the gleeful curran
Everything Curran wrote in the article is spot on. In the article he gives a lot of props to Belichick but he isn't gonna sugarcoat what we saw yesterday or what he's seen from them since the start of training camp. Can't polish this turd.

"And it's because he's proactively defending decisions he made as football overlord that led to things like a strip sack that ruined the opener. He’s the one who traded Shaq Mason and didn’t re-sign Ted Karras, who switched the offense and didn’t have a succession plan in place for Josh McDaniels, which led to Matt Patricia being asked to wear too many hats (and brand new hats, at that). He’s the one who decided Kendrick Bourne watching almost the entire game is “what’s best for the football team.”

Belichick acts like he had no hand in creating avoidable adversity. But he did. And a really promising second-year quarterback with a roster that has been -- for the most part -- nicely overhauled since 2020 shouldn’t be scoring seven points and lamenting mistakes that cost them 14.

Or hearing the greatest coach of all time give them head-pats for Sunday being "a pretty competitive game from a yardage standpoint."

I understand the mentality behind taking victories where you can find them. But this was a playoff team in 2021. It was striding in the right direction. And the only reason they’re now celebrating baby steps is because the decisions made set them back."

I saw God in there more than Barmore. The whole D-line I think played pretty well. Not many pressures from the interior, but Wise and Judon did pretty good in that area.

Optimistic much?? Can we wait for the official timely BB report...waiting for it.

The reports are there are no structural damage. It seems pretty clear he hurt his back on that one hit. I am just speculating on the information I have.

You have other information that you like to share, I am all ears.

I think that the team making the playoffs last season has skewed a lot of thinking away from it would have been had the team missed the cut. And that's problematic, because the team wasn't really a playoff caliber team last season. People ignored the flukiness of the mid-season run, and that has colored the notion of what this team is, and should be.

And that means that any reversion to the mean will be viewed as a failure rather than just things righting themselves, as some of it might be.

Nope lost for words.

Nope lost for words.

Then maybe you should have lost the words two posts ago and saved us the trouble of your ignorance.

Word is it is just back spasms and not a herniated disc like Gronk and Jones could play this weekend. What did I get wrong?

It isn't Gronk had. And it looks to be a pain management thing going forward.

Bourne liking a "free Bourne" Tweet.

BB is not off to a great start minus Brady.
I think he is.

People who expected more should readjust what an NFL rebuild looks like.

Because winning 10 and going to the playoffs in year 2 with a rookie is not how it normally goes.

By next year, this team will not have a single member of the 2019 SB champs on it other than Cardona.

Most teams who are in rebuilding mode get the luxury of top 10 picks for a few years, but the Patriots haven't finished that badly for generations now (2000). It will take time to acquire the talent, get players acclimated to the schemes, get the coach's strategy down.

Anyone who was expecting more wasn't paying attention to what all the other teams were doing.

34 years ago Bill Belichick put together a Hall of Fame defensive gameplan that shut down one of the greatest offenses the NFL had ever seen. He took Marv Levy's lunch money.

Levy resigned his position a few years later. Since then, the Bills have hired 9 head coaches, and they went 30 years before finding a good one.

This gives you a little bit of the backdrop for what goes on in the NFL.

From my perspective, the only really egregious screwups by the defense were the off-sides call Davis on 4th and 1 at the 50 that led to a field goal, and the blown coverage/missed tackle by two safeties on Jalen Waddle on the 42-yard TD. Other than that I don't have a lowlight reel to show the D.

Did you not watch Myles Bryant? Or Raekwon McMillian? Or Jalen Zero INT Mills? Or Uche?
