“We’re going through a process”

You said that you think McVay should be the highest paid, didn't you?
If so, I asked why is that.

I did, wasn’t sure because you didn’t quote me. Yes I think McVay should be the highest paid coach in the league. Has been probably the one of the two most successful coaches in the league the last five years, he’s young and innovative, and he’s a trend setter. Teams are trying to copy him and find the next one of him. It would be either him or Reid IMO

Pete Carroll didn't lead the team to, like, half the AFCCGs played over two decades and win six Super Bowls.

Stop this nonsense.
His resume is unmatched, but does BB judge himself the same way he judges players? If that was the case then he wouldn’t release a lot of the grgeat players towards the end of their career

So what we’ve learned today…

Sean McVay, whose team traded every first round pick until 2025 and their entire draft class this season to win last year’s Super Bowl…. his first ring…. is the best coach in the league.

Meanwhile the coach who beat him in his last Super Bowl visit 4 years ago should be sent to the unemployment line.

The Pats spent cap to appear in 4 Super Bowls and win 3 of them at the end of the dynasty. They kept all their draft capital and it took one down season to reset their cap.

The Rams meanwhile have burned through all their cap space, accrued cap debt going forward and traded all their draft picks for one ring… and McVay’s “process” is genius.

Laughable….

You didn’t learn anything except an opinion. It also seems like you’re impending doom on the Rams a touch early

Past performance is not indicative of future results. Do like Bill does, project future results of a player. No nonsense, just value to the Patriots. Kraft should do the same.

Who mentioned “impending doom?”

I said they have no draft picks because they traded them all away to fix complete screw ups that involved overpaying Todd Gurley, then trading up in the 1st for Jared Goff, only to also pay him a massive contract after his rookie contract despite some average play at best.

They had to trade the house to get out from under his contract. They won a single ring…

And you think BB is on the hot seat after playing in 4 and winning 3 to end the last dynasty… then resetting his teams salary cap and getting them back into the playoffs within two years. Laughable…

I didn’t say he was on the hot seat, just said McVay right now is the best coach in the league imo.

Victim of the moment mentality…
I could say you’re a victim of the past? How often does BB evaluate his roster on things they did 10 years ago? Why is he held to a different standard? You’re acting like I said he sucks

Just an example why didn’t BB make Brady the highest paid qb in the league in 2020? His resume is unmatched. Wozzy could say BB was victim of the moment right?

Great argument . But just believe that six wins trump's the in moment jusgement . Building a team takes close to 4 -5 years. See bills and rams. So assuming our rebuild started with 2020 , this is our 3rd year. I would give belichick 2022, 2023 and 2024 with aim being afc championship or Superbowl in 2023/2024.

Till then we need to allow belichick to experiment it out and build the team core for now we are still holding onto mccourty and slater . I am hoping for Judon, Barmore,Mac , jakobi, thornton onwenu,Jonnu , godchaux to form the core for the next 4-5 years.

All the mediots dumping on BB are the same people who asked BB in 2014 if there is a quarterback change coming or how he didnt plan for a 38 yr old QB after the chiefs loss

In 2020 a quarter of the Pats cap was gone before the offseason began, spent on dead cap from 72 players they invested in from 2014-2019 to play in 4 Super a bowls and win 3 rings.

They had roughly 12 starters who needed to be re-signed or replaced because they aged out… including the most expensive position on the team.

They’d used Gilmore’s contract as a slush fund two seasons prior to open up cap space which pushed his cap debt down the road so his hit was enormous.

The team was at a dead end, they needed to rebuild… all of the above I said before TB even announced he was leaving. That’s why BB moved on, because it was the best move for the team and the player.

If one doesn’t possess a rudimentary understanding of the cap, one cannot understand team building in the NFL.

That’s fair, but how far back do we go back? Mcvay isn’t really a year or moment thing? He instantly turned around the rams, has been to 2 SBs and won 1 in the last five years. And is in the top 3 of overall wins in that span. I am not saying BB is a bad coach by any means, I’d still have him ranked 2 or 3 right now

He had a plethora of opportunities to pay him, he chose Not to. It wasn’t one year, he saw his age and didn’t want to commit after a down year. He didn’t fall back on his legacy and never does, it’s was makes him a great coach and evaluator

You realize contracts are a two way street right?

Timmy agreed to take less from 2014 on, the team matched his commitment by pushing cap down the road and going all in. This is what propelled them to 4 Super a bowl appearances and 3 wins.

Suggesting BB should have done something different is saying you’d rather have Tom back and give back some, if not all of those rings.

No thanks… I’m happy with 6 rings, fine with how it ended.
