Pats have engaged in TRADE TALKS for Isaiah Wynn

That may be the case...but he is still roasted constantly.
I don't see it that often. Only a few posters like myself roast him, but met quickly with resistance.

They might cut both and got light on the o-line the 1st 3 games since they can bring up a Vet player like Ferentz w/o having to clear waivers.

BB has some playing around that needs to be done because of Thornton and Wilkerson.

He has to keep Thornton on the Squad initially and then IR him.

I don't know if the Pats can waive/injured Wilkerson with the Concussion and then give him an injury settlement or not. The rules are kinda weird on that. If they can't and are required to carry him until they can put him on the normal IR, that's an extra roster spot tied up.

The roster maneuvering is going to be interesting this year..
I have no problem with Ferentz being our backup OC, active as our 8th OL.

I think his production is overrated on here. While he did show some flashes at times, there was a 2-3 game stretch last year were he was getting trucked by DE's. Overall, he's unreliable, not that good and it was idiotic picking up his option.
Harry's was too.

2019 and 2020 he was more than fine when he played. Numbers back it up.

We all agree he's had durability issues which is the chief concern.

We are very likely to sign an OG or two, especially if we trade Wynn.
Not a lot of free agent options out there that can play G better then Hambright or Ferentz....good or bad.

Agreed but the Pats always seem to be pushing Onwenu inside. At MI they played him inside. No idea why but it seems the professionals like Onwenu inside.

The evidence before these last few days did say so.

But he had a fantastic game at right tackle, from what I've heard (even if it was vs backups), and instantly there's talk of trading Wynn.

Maybe the professionals finally said, "what are we doing here?"

Are you saying that no one better than Hambright will available after the so-called final cut to 53, and that no one will be available in trade?

For me, Ferentz is lock as the 8th active OL, the backup OC.

I'm not so sure about Ferentz.

I wouldn't be shocked at all. They'd probably have a long term deal in place to lower the cap hit.
So the new team would pay a guy who isn't worth $10 million much more?

Whatever they get in trade has to be worth more than 1 year of Wynn helping protect Mac

unless they want to free up the cap space to make another move, i wouldnt do this for less than a 3rd, and im not sure someone would give us that

Yes, but then they have to wait three weeks beyond the length of the settlement. Most likely with a concussion, it’d be a 0 week settlement so they could sign him after week 3, or maybe a 1 week settlement so they could sign him after week 4. He’d also have to choose to remain unemployed for those 3 weeks rather than sign with a new team that doesn’t have to wait the three weeks.
I know. I was throwing out possibilities instead of IRing him directly after the cut down to 53. Which is a 6 week wait and forces the Pats to expose someone else.

Do you mean aside from the fact that he refused to do an extension to lower his cap hit this year? His salary is currently the fifth highest cap hit on the team.

Wynn's only comments on his contract when asked was, "I ain’t worried about no contract right now. I’m focused on being the best player I can be for the team, so we can move forward to the season. I’m not worried about any of that right now. That will come when it comes."

Many have interpreted these comments as him being uninterested in an extension.

Let's work backwards:
Many who? Fans who don't know what a player is thinking? Reporters who have no idea what a player is thinking,

Wynn's comments tell me that he knows that he needs to show up if he expects to get a contract. I'm not sure when/where the quote you posted came from, but if it was before OTAs, a lot has transpired for him. Not playing last week certainly didn't help, but we'll see what happens.

Could you show me where Wynn refused to do a contract extension? I've been under the impression the Pats didn't offer him one because of the injury issues he's had and wanted to see how the 5th year played out. If you have a link that says otherwise please share it.

Apparently he's had a tough TC.
He's had the TC that should be expected of a guy who literally was not allowed to even practice with a football team for a year, and has never played in the NFL. In other words, a slow learning process that is largely invisible to fans.
