IMO, he sees himself being fazed out with the new faces and the guys who underperformed last season.

Id be curious to know how many targets have gone Bournes way compared to last season. It sounds like Agholor, Jonnu, Parker, Humphrey and Meyers are seeing lots of action .
Media has reported he doesn't get much action in practice.
The 2001 NE WRs hit the dirt post reception rather than expose themselves to injury.

Smart football.
Deion Branch did this almost after every reception and I'm not knocking it. Torry Holt, Issac Bruce and Marvin Harrison were a few guys who noticeably did it after getting their yards.

Brandon Lloyd was another...

Yep, and he needs to have his drafting duties revoked, as of, like, yesterday.
I gave the laughing emoji because I know posters are going to get offended and give you resistance.

Football players fight for yards. Going down and giving uo
On a play is not how you win football games.
Win football games that matter. This was a preseason game. He needs to be smarter in this regard. Don’t take avoidable damage in the preseason when your a roster lock.

I broke mine and it never aligned right when it healed but it's never been a problem. And you're right...it's deffo minor compared to a knee injury.
There's a significant difference between a displaced and non-displaced fracture. Hoping for the latter if it is indeed a fracture. For all we know, it may be a bone bruise. Hoping.

A broken collarbone takes 6-8 weeks to heal. He should be good to go by late October at the latest, if that’s what his injury is
Yep. And the season is still 3 weeks away. If best case scenario were to happen, he could even be back by end of September IF that they don’t shut him down.

Hope it's just a freak thing, don't want to see another Charles Rogers. I did see the play where he turned it up against like 4 guys, I don't really want any of our guys taking that on, especially in a PS Game.

I remember Marvin once had a play vs. Denver where he did the fall down, realized no one touched him, and jumped right back up and scored.

I’m rusty
It’s preseason. Granted some posters are already in mid season whiner mode.

Also to keep Thornton around they would have to put him on the 53 and then IR him. Unless they plan on giving a roster spot to an injured unproven player

Do we know when he got hurt? I'm re-watching the game and on his one reception, although he got hit by several guys, he got up without any pain and he played at least one more play after that. He wasn't holding his shoulder or his arm or anything else.

Ben Watson did the same in 2004 looking totally fine, yet somehow tore his ACL.

He is fighting for a role.
It’s a well known understanding among football players that when you play afraid to get hurt you are more likely to get hurt.
You can’t turn effort on and off.
