Harry to Chicago for 2024 7th rounder

The fact remains that N'Keal Harry is BB's greatest draft failure. BB hasn't drafted a pro bowl talent since Donta Hightower in 2012
Close, but the last player on offense or defense was Jamie Collins in 2013 who made All Pro/Pro Bowl in 2015.

We got a better return for Ryan Izzo (2018 7th Rder) in 2021 (a 2022 7th) than we did for Harry (2024 7th). What a joke.
What part is the joke, the trade? We got a draft pick for him and got immediate cap relief, for a guy that was about to get cut. That's called making the best of it and moving on, something that BB does exceedingly well.

The idea that Bill is this genius GM is so overblown, at least in the last few years. Both his drafts and trades have been pretty awful. Even Kraft acknowledged the subpar drafts. His trades are worse. Old man is losing his touch.
His trades are fine, and your takes are becoming increasingly irritating - exposed as just a pure hater really.

Those don't include draft trades, just trades for players outside the draft.

Funny thing is a lot of the picks he got from his trades, he ended up trading away. Lol
So what? you don't know wtf you're talking about, really. Total dunce.

Real Patriots fans are not what you define them to be much as the Legion of BB defenders claim absolute authority on this matter. Just cos you say it, doesn't make it so.

Oh you criticized BB's drafting, you're not a real Patriot fan, is not a logical argument. It's circular nonsense logic.

The fact remains that N'Keal Harry is BB's greatest draft failure. BB hasn't drafted a pro bowl talent since Donta Hightower in 2012 and now Mac Jones in 2021. And the man who stacked the draft board for the 2021 draft, Dave Ziegler, has left for the Raiders to join Josh McDaniels.

These are all facts. The rest is just interjections, objections, and justifications by the loyal Legion of BB defenders.

The real question you should ask yourself is this, if BB is willing to accept his mistake and move on by trading away N'Keal Harry for a mere 2024 7th round pick to the Chicago Bears, why can't you?
What Belichick does is build teams by competition. I think we can all agree he has upgraded our WR/weapons through FA's and draft, which were sub-par the past 3 years. In doing that he made Harry expendable because he's no longer among our top 4-5 WR's, so he goes on the market and we take the best deal available. BB doesn't worry about what he paid for the guy in the first place, that's a waste of time and can lead to bad decisions. That's for losers like about 15 very shrill posters on this board. It's all about looking forward from here, we're coming off a 10-7 season, and we have a better roster this year than last. The Pats have done a remarkable job of navigating from a SB win in 18/19, Brady leaving after 19/20, Cam and the reset year of 20/21, to turning the corner in 21/22, to a promising 22/23. It's a fun ride and a lot of you are missing it.

Bailey made the Pro bowl & was an AP1, that's the only other player since 2013. Granted he's ST which Bill is great at picking (aside from Rohrwasser wh9 was a flop).

Sorry you don't like facts.

Wouldn't call trading a 1st round pick for pocket lint doing exceedingly well. Sorry your standards are so low.

The Patriots didn't trade a first round pick for pocket lint. They traded a stiff of a player who was going into his 4th year, and who was not going to make their team, for a 7th round pick two years down the road.

That's a good trade.

Gunner made All Pro as well in 2020, but I specifically excluded those guys.

A decent trade would've been a 2023 7th. He got pocket lint.
You have no idea what you're talking about with this, if you think the year of the pick made this a bad trade.

With the rate of inflation, that 2024 7th rounder will be worth like a 9th.

BS… we’re rehashing the million ways the Harry pick sucked. A guy everyone here knew in advance would be gone this preseason. A guy who has been lambasted a million times already.

How many pages did last offseason’s dedicated Harry thread get to? Something like 30+ pages…

How many different ways can you moaners complain about the same thing and tell us the winningest coach in history actually sucks?

Are you guys going to start another Harry thread next offseason? Good grief…

This thread is just therapy to find closure
