Patriots Player Departure Stidham traded to Raiders

When you heard the Patriots talk about what they were looking to add in this year's draft class the key words were "speed" and "toughness."

Speed is obvious, the toughness not so much. But when I look at that draft class above I see a bunch of guys (N'Keal, Stidham, Winovich) who are mentally weak. Undoubtedly they learned from this mistake and vowed not to repeat it.

Thats good i guess , gives me a hope we can get something for Harry
I think if any team wanted Harry, we would have traded him already. I think it's inevitable that he will be at t/c. Might not be the worst thing....let him play well, go against SloJuan, beat him a few times and maybe a team or two will take notice and want him...Heck, we might be able to even get a 6th for him if he plays really well during camp.

But Stidham broke the team preseason records and shredded the top defense in practice so he's awesome and sb1 saying Stidham sucks means he thinks he knows more than BB and he's denying the pandemic! Or something :D:D:D

Ah Stevenson. Good times lol

A 6th would be incredible. Id take the same type of deal as this though, should be decent cap savings on that too

Watch Slow-Quan lock him up not falling that Ashley good try. Slow-Quan is also playing for his Football life or afterlife Harry would be the last WR I would put him on. BB didn't draft those Two CB's for nothing plus those UDFA CB acquisitions.

Patriots are not getting good returns on their QB draft picks...

Rohan Davey 4th Round 2002... didn't make the 2005 team and was cut for nothing.
Kliff Kingsbury 6th Round 2003... didn't make the team and was cut for nothing.
Matt Cassel 7th Round 2005... traded with Mike Vrabel to KC for a 2nd Round pick in 2009... Patriots selected Patrick Chung... put this one in the plus column.
Kevin O'Connell 3rd Round 2008... didn't make the team in 2009 and was cut for nothing.
Zac Robinson 7th Round 2010... didn't make the team and was cut for nothing.
Ryan Mallett 3rd Round 2011... traded to Houston for a 6th Round pick in 2014... Patriots selected Matthew Wells who never made the team.
Jimmy Garoppolo 2nd Round 2014... traded to SF for a 2nd Round pick in 2017... reportedly they could have gotten better compensation but they didn't shop the player at all... that 2nd Round pick they got they dissolved in bevy of subsequent trades for lower round picks.
Jacoby Brissett 3rd Round 2016... traded to Indianapolis in exchange for Phillip Dorsett in 2017... they didn't get much production out of Dorsett, although he did have a TD reception in the 2018 AFCCG.
Danny Etling 7th Round 2018... didn't make the team and was cut for nothing.
Jarrett Stidham 4th Round 2019... traded to LVR for an exchange of late round picks.
Mac Jones 1st Round 2021... current starter.
Bailey Zappe 4th Round 2022... TBD.

3rd Round picks on O'Connell and Mallett are probably the worst... got nothing out of or back for either one.
Jimmy G was taken to be the eventual starter... total miscalculation on what Brady had left in the tank and the hasty trade to SF was just bizarre.
Brissett was an inexplicable pick at the time... basically doubled down on your stupidity by drafting another mid-round QB with Brady clearly still playing at an elite level.
I hated the Stidham pick too.

Another horrible use of draft capital.

However, Stidham is a big winner in this getting paid to live in Vegas. Enjoy it while it lasts.

And I remember a time when this board was so delusional thinking this guy was going to be the starter for 2020. Good times.

I wish I had been able to see him prepare and start and finish a game. Don't know why he wasn't at least better than Cam. He sure looked better to me. I wish him well.

The writing was on the wall when Bill let Cam finish the 2020 season.

Stidham absolutely should have played that last, Less Than Meaningful home game vs the Jesters. No ****ing reason whatsoever why he should not have.

But Shula & Papa Bear beckon; so...

Are they getting poor value? Why start 2002 and not 2000? If you’re going to go back arbitrarily 20 years, might as well actually go back 22 to the start of the BB era.

Harris and Bailey are saving it from being ranked below 2017 but it's up there. 2007 was also bad.

Yes it was... There've been more than a couple of those over the years, including recently...very recently...
