Brady to Fox after he retires

Brady let us all know that 90% of what he says is BS, so he is well qualified to be a commentator. Otherwise I am not sure he is a great choice to attract viewers. Across the country many people hate him because they ain't him, another group is sick of him because of all the drama and constant media coverage. It will be interesting to see if he actually takes the job and the reaction to him if he does become a TV analyst.

I imagine he’ll be a better version of Tony Romo. Will be able to point out what’s happening without the goofy demeanour and bad jokes.

.....press conferences, Jim Gray pre-scripted interviews, neatly packaged self-indulgent realty documentaries, etc.

Hopefully, he gets coached up because he is far too measured and deliberate with his word choice and his delivery needs more pace.

I guess the "spend more time with the family" narrative can go back on the shelf again.

That went out the door with his ?2018 off-season appearance in Monaco without his wife and kids, dressed up in the “I am now so rich and famous that I have lost all touch with reality” all-white outfit, throwing a football to another Aston Martin pitch man standing on a boat, while his teammates were sweating on the practice field during OTAs in Foxboro.

Meh they won the Superbowl so it doesn't matter

Will be odd to see Brady in that role, he’s not a natural in front of the camera. He’ll have to offer more than he does in his press conferences for this to work

For that kind of money tho, who can blame him

Some of his IG posts are cringeworthy...like the most recent one where he's lip syncing to a song like some girl on Tiktok. Also, he's an introvert, which is going to make things tough for him. But we'll see, hopefully it works out well for him. What would be really cool is if Brady is calling the next super bowl the Pats are in.

It's a 5 year deal so if he retires this season, 2023-2028 that means

This season its Fox
2023-CBS
2024-NBC
2025-Fox

That's 4 seasons for the Patriots to get to Superbowl contention..it's totally possible

I know it's a lot less work than being a player, but it is still at least one game a week and sometimes two, with travel days on the front and back end, and with a fair amount of prep work.

The idea of him suddenly spending so much more time with his family and being there for kid's activities would not seem to fit all that well with this plan.

I remember a time long ago when Fox was the premiere broadcast for football with John Madden and Pat Summerall. No team will ever come close to those legends.

What does that have to do with spending time with his family? You Tompa Gronka thread bobos are so anxious to defend Tommy at all costs that you don’t even take the time to actually read the posts to which you are replying.
I should've just quoted the OTAs part my mistake. I could care less about the family narrative

It wouldn't surprise me if this was strategy to

His first retirement cancelation proves that spending time with the family is just window dressing. My cynical side thinks this is just a way to ensure he makes at least $20M playing football until he retires again. Does the TV contract have any impact on taking an ownership stake in the Dolphins?

That's crazy that they would pay Brady that much without even knowing how well he does. What if he absolutely sucks as an analyst? Just because he is an elite player and is fairly good in front of camera doesn't mean he will be a great analyst. Besides, Brady hasn't been the guy who likes to say negative things about other players in public thus far in his career even when others have.

Agree
He could be another Romo.
But he could be another Dan Fouts.

They changed the rotation up, so it’s Fox this year, CBS in 2023, and Fox again in 2024
