Here's our Day 2 thread for the 2022 draft. Discussion surrounding the larger overall draft for today will happen here. Things will kick off in about 30 minutes after this is posted.

Want to also touch on a couple things that are asked frequently and how we're approaching them.

First of all - "spoilers". Earlier today I sought to solicit some feedback regarding separate threads for spoiler-free/spoilers-welcome discussion. Ultimately there did not appear to be much overall anti-spoiler sentiment. After discussing with the rest of the team we have decided to keep things as one single thread and state officially that spoilers are 100% permitted to be posted within this thread. Please do not be worried about posting picks if you see them reported by Rapopport, Breer etc - they're absolutely safe to share here.

Second item to touch on - discussion surrounding players selected by the Pats. For the duration of the draft weekend (Thursday-Saturday) we will limit discussion surrounding players picked to 1 "mega-thread" per player here on the main forum. Duplicate threads discussing selected players will be merged into that thread or removed. This limit only applies during the duration of the draft weekend and not afterwards.

If you have any questions on the above please let us know! Looking forward to a fun night.

Will be keeping an eye for a tradeup but barring that, what's the expected time for pick 54?

Put this in the Pre-Game Thread, but fits here just as well.

I'm going to be slightly contrarian here.

I love how Belichick has set up this draft. A couple months ago we had only 6 (I think, going off memory) picks and we were gnashing our collective teeth that we didn't have enough draft capital to fill all our holes. A few trades later and now we have six picks (including Strange) in the top-127 and an opportunity to get a real influx of talent out of this draft.

While Strange isn't a sexy pick, he's likely a Day 1 starter which is all you can ask for out of a late 1st rd. pick. Now Belichick can use his next 10 picks to move around the board and find a CB, ILB, DT/NT/Edge and anything else he wants, including a left-footed punter. And, with the strength of the draft (HT to BGC) from 30-90, we are set up to really make hay.

So, steel your spine folks, this draft has the chance to help re-make this team for the next 4-5 years.

In Bill We Trust. Truly!

just open dov kleiman's twitter page and refresh every so often.

I want to trade out of this noise one pick at a time for a total of 28 6s and 113 7s in 2024. :D

Not really. Just picking that as my binky because nobody ever gets their binky.

Thanks again @Ross12 for starting thread....looking forward to tonight. A lot of good players available and I wouldn't be surprised if we traded up or back.

PICKS THAT MAKES SENSE - DAY 2 THOUGHTS

Starting OL checked - as predicted in my first post of the series - ill try to use similar approach on Day 2.
Meaning trying to guess what they have in mind based on roster reality avoiding as much as possible the pitfalls of flawed personal view.

There are a few positions we can possibly “discard“ for Day 2 judging by the roster (length and strength of contract, number of players by position usually on 90 roster..): QB, RB, TE, OL, S

Day 2 is about adding quality, potential starters or at least significant rotational/situational players.
Rosterwise - the weakest positions (least returning/added starters) are - CB, LB, EDGE.
CB and EDGE are usually targeted in Day 2.
LB has a lot of Day 2 talent left and it was not targeted highly since a long time (unless you count Jennings).

WR and DL are coveted by the board - but - judging by the strength of contracts / starting experience etc - at least at the moment - they might be an afterthought today. Much was invested in both positions esp last yr (FA and Draft), some contracts are heavily guaranteed etc.
Moreover, there is still some vet talent available at both position in Free Agency Part II.
But if someone they really like is still hanging on the board they might pull the trigger anyway.

@edge - if they dont intend to bring back Flowers id expect they would target someone in similar DE capacity.
Plenty of decent options still on board. My choice would be Josh Paschal. There's Drake the Rosenhaus client etc..
Maybe they feel they could use one complementary DE/DL like Leal, Hall or Winfrey.
Or quicker edge like Sam Williams, Ebiketie.
Maybe take a flyer on redshirted Ojabo?

@CB - plenty of names - one maybe not talked as much to consider - Jalyn Armour-Davis.

@LB - plenty of top PTP choice still left - have no preference

I love the idea of trading for every pick in the sixth round. That would be so much fun for Belichick to pick 32 players in a row. Just to make the people on this Board happy, he could pick 32 wide receivers in order of their vertical leaps. Trade down! Trade down! Trade down!

I really hope we are on the clock very early we have the ammo. We could get atleast two players of our choice using the extra picks we got to trade up do it BB.

Twitter rumor that the Bucs want a DT - said to watch Logan Hall or Travis Jones.

Still shaking my head...isn't Vita Vea there?

Looking at Alec Pierce and Jalen Tolbert at receiver.
Maybe John metchie.
Bo Mafe DL
Andrew Booth DB.

F** yeah I have no strategy in mind but DO IT. For the opposite reason -- just to make everybody's head explode -- I'd love one of those slow, torturous trade down bonanzas. I just draw the line when we "trade" for UDFA preference order positioning, if that exists.

I hope Tampa takes a QB.....just for the drama.

Alright I'm going forget last night ever happened. :)
