Red Throwback Jerseys making a return in 2022

Bills did this ugliness before, along with those silly red helmets.
I think the red helmets pop. Their all white away uniforms look very bland. Also, I think the current Bills' uniforms look too similar to how a Patriots uniform could look -red, white and blue scheme.

I always prefer the UCLA stripes (over the shoulder, AKA 80s era) vs the Northwestern (or sleeve stripes). Breaks up a lot of very boring looking red real estate.

True but gangbangers kill each other over
colors. Just sayin'
do they?

was it the colors, or was it the gangs?

or was that just some hollywood bs?

personally, i just want the Pats to get rid of the horrible color rush home uniforms. its terribad

That's not true, and the myth has been debunked several times.

It is OK for you to like the incorrect red jerseys. It's NOT OK to attempt rewriting history to justify enjoying the Sullivans' mistake.

BLUE rules. BLUE = WINS. The ENEMY wore red. Red is dead. RIP red.

You must have been really upset from 1960-1992.

Yeah, all that losing sucked. Thankfully, good mojo from the historically correct uniform upgrade helped turn things around.

If we want to talk historical accuracy. This is what the Continental Army wore for the majority of the Revolution. It was always a hodgepodge.

You and others here conveniently ignore the OFFICIAL Continental Army uniform commissioned by the father of our nation, George Washington. It was BLUE. The enemy wore RED. That lends to the fact they were referred to as the REDCOATS. Good guys = BLUE. Bad guys = RED. It can't be any clearer.

Nope, I don't. They weren't commissioned until 1779, four years after fighting had begun. They were also slow to circulate among the troops, meaning it was still a hodgepodge of many different colors for most of the rest of the war. So, for half the war, blue wasn't standardized and in the other half, they didn't have enough resources to outfit everyone uniformly. I can provide several scholarly resources on the subject, if you'd like.

As I've already posted, this "scholarly" fact is indisputable: the American Revolutionary War occurred 1775-1783 and during that time, BLUE UNIFORMS were officially adopted by the Colonial Army. It matters not that they were adopted halfway through the war, the fact remains that Colonial Army soldiers OFFICIALLY WORE BLUE UNIFORMS IN BATTLE DURING THE WAR FOR INDEPENDENCE. The British OFFICIALLY WORE RED UNIFORMS.

In other words:

Good guys = BLUE.

Bad guys = RED.

Hence, the use of red jerseys for a football team whose identity and namesake draw from the era is a HISTORICALLY INACCURATE MISTAKE finally rectified in 1993.

never actually understoof this line of thinking... think of it like the American Flag, the symbol the militias rallied around, not what color jackets were worn in the American revolution... Old Glory, the Red, White & Blue
The team will always be 'historically inaccurate' until they each carry a musket on the field for the entire game.

You agree with jimnance...

When we were planning to visit the London Zoo in '69, I was extremely upset that every animal depicted in the Dr. Dolittle story would be there, except the Pushmi-Pullyu(Push-Me, Pull-You). In my mind, there was no logical reason for one random animal to be fictitious.

Since then, I have learned about literary license, creativity, imagination and aesthetics.

But I never had a problem with the American flag being mostly red, or that our nation's patriotic colors are Red, White and Blue.

The militiamen, and in fact all the Patriots, who consisted of everyone who defied the Crown, including red-clad colonists, dignitaries, statesmen, diplomats and the Founding Fathers, were not carrying footballs.

Unlike the multitude of blue jersey clad opponents, the Patriots football team was in the minority of red jersey teams, along with the 49ers, Falcons and Cardinals. Our shade of red was unique, our uniform (which is the favorite of most of us who don't post on patsfans, as well as even opponents) was patriotic, and our (historically accurate) logo was unanimously chosen by the fans (you two must not have been there in '79-BTW we beat the Chargers, who never beat us with Fouts) and has been rated the best logo in NFL history, and was worn for 32 years.

So, when geneticists create a real Push-Me, Pull-You, and the subsequent world wide pandemic wipes out the human race, you can celebrate as we all die.

Hmmm,

Looks like we need to adopt the 49ers' khaki pants.

Not seeing much silver in there, except maybe the buttons.

These guys look alive (as opposed to the flying elvis), so that'll have to be fixed.

And we'll have to change to blue helmets.

Need to add red cuffs...

Just need all the players to have wooden teeth, and we'll be just about there!

Silver? There's plenty of silver to go along with all the gold pocketed from six Super Bowl wins after seasons in BLUE uniforms. How many titles during the red years? Nada.
