BGC 2022 WR/PTP Thread

I am standing by my prediction. Bo goes on Day 2. We shall see. Of course if I am wrong, and he goes in round 7, say, to the Jets, then I will say that they got the steal of the draft and in a few years I will be proved right. By that time everyone will have forgotten my preposterous prognostication and I can slink away and go back to my dark corner on the internet.

BTW, I really want the Patriots to draft a small, quick guy like Bo-Mel, Robinson, or Calvin Austin III; they would drive the larger CBs nuts. I like all three of these guys for Day 2.
God, that does sound like something Belichick would do. Overdraft a player, thought he only did that with cornerbacks and safeties? Austin might break into the 2nd or 3rd.

I will be on semi-Smurf Watch on Friday night. The Patriots need a small, explosive guy that is hard to cover. Here is who I will be rooting for. Not all of them are smurfs, but they are all quick, esp. CA-III and BoMel. I think that these are all Day 2 guys, at least. I know I got beat up on BoMel, but I am sticking with him for Day 2.

Calvin Austin III
Bo Melton
Jahan Dotson
Wan'Dale Robinson
Skyy Moore

CA-III is my Main Man; I don't think is he cover-able

Love em' all Fred no love for Baylor's Tyquan Thornton??

I think we can be assured that Pickens is not even on the Patriots board. As I noted before, Dallas seems like a good destination.
I'm still holding out hope I have the same feeling for George Pickens as I did for A.J. Brown.

Thornton is a blazer for sure, but I don't see great moves. Great straight line speed does not always make for an elite WR. Justin Bethel or Matthew Slater for instance. I know this is surprising and I was surprised myself when I looked at his tape.

I also have my doubts about Romeo Doubs; he is big but seems stiff and awkward. Please, Bill, no!

We would all love Pickens if he became a Patriot; we would call him, ah, high-spirited. If he is drafted by any other team, we would hate him. I am trying to think of a team with obnoxious WRs that would be a good home for Pickens....Cowboys?

That being said, Pickens seems to have excellent WR skills; although he is big, he seems shifty and elusive. But not a Patriot.

Another guy I do not like is Treylon Burks. He is projected as a first rounder, but I just do not see it. He will slide unless some GM (or owner such as Synder) makes a mistake.

I hope that triple meeting with Doubs don't equate to Second Round Reach!!

Exactly!!! Doubs probably gives great interviews....hmmm, who does that remind me of....hmmm

What a nightmare if BB does his classic reach for this guy. Even third round would be an awful reach. He would be a goo dpick at round six or seven.

He seems to be able to get open in the tapes I saw, but who is he playing against? They looked like high school CBs. How did he do against top-fight CBs? He has some speed and seems to be able to get open but he looks stiff.

My nightmare scenario: Any combination of this:
Round 1: Drake London
Round 2: Treylon Burks
Round 3: Doubs

Not sure why you say Doubs is stiff, a little bit stiff but he is a Day 3 guy so he is not going to look great. I forget where I read it but the number of NFL WRs less than 190lbs or 180lbs was listed and it was virtually no-one. Doubs explodes out of his breaks, is quick off the line, and runs well. Not sure what you are looking for with a late round prospect. Looks quite good to me with the exception that he catches the ball with his body too much for my taste, in the NFL it is very helpful to snatch the ball out of the air like Dotson does. For a late round guy I think Doubs looks MUCH better than Tre Nixon.

Sure, I agree. He would be a nice late round pickup, round six or seven maybe. From what I saw, his hands looks good, and I did not see a body-catch problem. The highlights I saw did not show much as far as what kind of moves he has, but he was open a lot, but I suspect he was working again third-tier CBs. I saw a Combine 40 time of 4.72; is that correct? I suspect he is more in the 4.4 or 4.5 range.

He seems stiff and not very elusive. The problem is that the Patriots already have some guys like him; I favor the quick jiterbugs like Calvin Austin III, but CAIII should get picked in round 3 or even 2.

You'll be hearing about this dude very soon. He's a huge recruit.

Holy crap this dude is the freak of all freaks. 6'6" 225lbs 17yrs old 46 D1 offers. His 10.22 was run in -0.9m/s wind while Tyreek's 10.19 in HS was run in +1.8m/s. Based on the calcs, if Nyckoles Harbor ran with Tyreek's wind, he'd be at 10.07. Supposedly DE or TE.

Since "[Nyckoles] Got Game," the recruiting must've been... fierce:

WR Tank Dell out of Houston?

Why not draft his QB as well, Clayton Tune. They have a good connection.
