Cousins, Great little Saturday breakfast. Two eggs over perfectly with just the right amount of pepper, maple cured bacon (had to share with the cat and dogs!) and a half of a flaky cinnamon role with that vanilla frosting....plus coffee with mint/chocolate moca flavoring and orange juice.

Thoughts for Today: Bill, Thou shalt not!

Never try to Draft a WR
Never Draft a DB in the second round especially an obscure Safety
Never trade down when there is a stud at your pick. Put a note in your pocket "Draft______ not matter what".
Don't let your "advisors" talk you into taking way less than the player is worth that you are considering trading.

As FA winds down, we are definitely NOT better than 2021 but we still have a couple of solid pieces left we can add and some trades that can be made. If Matt Groh can't pick up the phone, get in touch with me or someone on this forum and gladly we will make the calls for you.

Here is my offered formula after this embarrassing few weeks of "The Make My Team Better" time period:

F/A:

Can we get Gilmore to kiss and make up? We need one more vet CB. Fuller? Hayden Mills is playing out of position.

J.C Tretter. Can play Center or Guard. Take the Karras role but should start at RG. Rated as top three centers against pass rush for three years in a row. If many of you remember, Brian Waters did a great job similarly from the Chiefs.Named to a Pro Bowl here.Tretter is still only 31.

Trey Flowers. DE. Makes perfect sense. Knows the system. Was not healthy in Detroit. Brings more playing speed. Across from Judon should be pretty stout rushing the passer.

Trades:

I have some "corkers" here you are gonna love or hate Cousins.

We signed Parker but still need one more Vet because in my trade Harry and Agholor are going. Now this changes if we add OBJ. But he's not ready until November.

I am pounding the TV tray for Laviska Shenault WR from the Jags. He will cost only $1.8mm.....cheap! Had 63 Receptions last year from the "other" rookie QB on a lesser Team. Good size . Decent speed. Plays the slot. Can play wildcat. I see a little Deebo in his play. He will knock you on your rectum.

The Jags signed Jones, Engram and Kirk for huge bucks. I am offering the Jags one of our 6th Rounders. They need to move him. This should be a no brainer if we can wake them up- in Foxborough.

Now some Draft Trades. Please follow along:

If I am GM, I am trading #21 in the 1st and #54 in the 2nd to Detroit who would like to move up slightly to get a QB with the 5th year option. In return we get #32 in the first and Detroit's # 34 in the second round. The Trade numbers work.

Next I am trading #32 in the 1st and #210 in the 6th plus WR Harry and CB Jojuan Williams to the Panthers for their last years 1st round 8th overall pick who injured his foot in camp , CB Jaycee Horn. The kid was a stud. Still 4 years under contract, plus WR Robbie Anderson.

Next I am trading #34 to the Falcons to assist their QB hunt (because the pick at #8 does not warrant these 2022 QBs), plus Agholor (they are desperate for WR) for both of their second rounders #43 and #58,

The Draft trade numbers all make sense,

My prefernce is I would use those two 2nds for DE/DT Logan Hall ( Richard Seymour reference has been made) and ILB Leo Chanal.

Thoughts?

Always love the breakfast run down ...

Stop with this nonsense.

Not with this nonsense. You didn't know Kyle Dugger until he was drafted.

You never go into a draft saying we'll never do this. That's not how it works.

One of the better bad movies that are fun to watch. "No matter what" cuzzo

I don't know what this means ...

I'm expecting one of Gilmore or Flowers.

There's a lot of Deebo is Shenault. He was on my PTP Board a few years ago. 2nd RD grade. I'm a big fan.

Harry & a 6th

They'll laugh at you. This isn't happening lol

Why trade Agholor? He wasn't bad last year? We didn't target him and he was open plenty. He's a good #3 with speed and versatility in his second year here with a second year QB.
The Draft trade numbers all make sense,

This is one of the only good ideas in the OP. It's Chenal.

Honestly I like hearing about your breakfast more than your draft ideas.

Are you sure you didn't add some (a lot of) Bailys to your coffee this morning?

I'm actually with you on the trades. A lot of meat on the bone in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of this draft. Let's get some extra picks. I want to come out of the draft with help at CB, LB, WR, and O-line. Wouldn't object to D-line help either. We'll probably end up with another RB and TE though!

We've used ONE draft pick on a WR in the first 3 rounds in the last decade.

ONE!!!

Maybe the problem isn't scouting WRs, but DRAFTING them!!!
How some don't get this is beyond me. If you're not spending top 100 picks on a position you can't complain about lack of return.

Why on earth would the Panthers trade Horn to us? Wasn’t he the 8th pick? Sounds more like fantasy than reality.

Chanal would be a very good draft pick indeed. Definitely fills a need.

Toys Trade-o-rama came early this year, it’s always one of my favorite draft season events! Carry on, cousin :excited:
C'mon mush

I'm not sure about Chanal. I think we need to add more speed/athleticism at LB.

4.53 40, 40 in vertical and 10’8 broad j is not athletic or fast enough for you? He has strength 34 reps, he gets pressure on the qb and can tackle well. His coverage needs some work at the next level but I bank on motor and production on a 2nd or 3rd round player at this point.

Athleticism on full display here ...

Silly strong 315 x 18. That's power most have no idea about.

Going downhill he is great. It's his sideline to sideline ability that worries me. I think he could be picked on in coverage. If we can combine him with another LB who has the sideline to sideline and coverage ability then it makes all the sense in the world.

I agree with pretty much everything there. He would be a pretty good replacement for Hightower. Don’t think he would be that big of a liability in coverage but who knows? They definitely need two LBs if McGrone or Perkins dont convert well. McMillan is coming back from the acl tear and he was having himself a great camp last year. Be very interested to see how he performs. Don’t mind taking a shot on the kids from the smaller schools like Wyoming And Montana st but small school talent scare me sometimes. For every khalil Mack type there are 1000 busts.

PM is correct here. Chenal would be a HT replacement and the Pats do a great job hiding guys like him and Bentley in coverage.

I really like the McMillan signing. He's a good player when healthy. Hopefully McGrone hits bc he could be a nice piece.

Boomer guys like Muma, Quay Walker, Beavers are options in the 2nd imo. There's actually a decent crop of prospects to choose from later if we wanted more speed and someone with coverage potential. Harris, Clark, Anderson, McFadden or guys like Justin Rice, Mike Rose, Diego Fa got (poor guy)

In all seriousness I wouldn't mind Shenault (slot/rb/weapon), Chenal (HT replacement) and Hall (5T) on this team.

Chenal has elite athleticism and I have little doubt about his ability to cover adequately given that.

Researching him a bit, the knocks on him seem to be unimpressive play diagnosis ability, poor hand usage to fend off blockers and crude pass rushing technique. I'm pretty nervous about linebackers that are slow to diagnose; I remember the horror of watching elite athlete Andy Katzenmoyer not reacting for half a second on every snap...

if we play some okie and tite like last year leaving the G alone, Chenal would be a great fit similar to HT taking on a C or G on running plays bc chenal has the speed and power to make an impact there. also if we rush with one interior linemen against the pass Chenal would be a nice rusher from the interior spot. It depends how they wanna line up for me. I think we have a lot of quantity at the LB spot now, so only take a LB if it meets quality imo.
