2022 OL

If a mod wants to loop this in somewhere else that is fine but let’s take a more in depth look at the OL.

LT: Wynn
Never a question of ability…just availability. Can he stay healthy?? Hope so because we need it!!!

LG: ????
Draft a Guard with starting potential somewhere in the 3rd/4th round. Sign a vet to a low risk deal Those two and Desjarlais battle for the starting spot.

C: Andrews
Moving on!!!

RG: Onwenu
Moving on!!!

RT: L. Collins
Trade for the beast

Depth: Herron/Ferentz/1 of the G battlers

Injury permitting we could be ok if the plan is something in the ballpark of that…in my opinion of course, which isn’t worth much.

Wynn/Lose ****ing sucks at LT... But he could become a Pro-Bowl-caliber Left GUARD...

So let's instead draft a Left Tackle with starting potential somewhere in the 3rd/4th round; and a Left Guard somewhere Late on Day 3 or - Better still - as a UDFA...

Hope that Trent Brown (& his Calf of Renown) signed a deal for At Least Half as much as La'ell Collins did...

Depth: NON-EXISTENT... Herron, Cachoo, Durant... and Especially Thanksdad ALL ****ING SUCK... They're not even Practice ****ing Squad worthy.

It’s only March, how do you know that?

Lot - wynn
Log - the Canadian
C - Andrews
Rog - Sherman
Rot - onwenu

Upgrades at guard are not impossible to find!

If we resign brown, onwenu moves to rog!

If we draft sailor of Georgia in the 3rd round of the draft, we get a monster log.

Pardon my Italian, but that OL ****ing Sucks.

Not gonna lie “Thanksdad” about made me spit out my coffee.

Maybe try and trade down a few spots and pick up a third. Then draft Raimann or Penning at OT. Go after an outside corner in round 2, NT and WR in round 3, OG in round 4.

Or an OG in the 6th/7th rounds or as a UDFA (or both), and use the 4th-rounder on the Best DE Available... We don't have Anybody there except for Judon (and Dee Notso Wise does Not count)...

It's sad that re-signing Brown back was obviously not their Plan-A.
Losing out on Karras & Collins hurts. At this moment, we're banking on the health of Brown & Wynn and starting Sherman or Herron. We'll see if they can swing Bates from BUF, or else it all comes down to needing a starting OL from the draft.

Brown isn’t always available, which had to factor in to their thinking.

Assuming onwenu is the plan at rg i feel pretty good with this line. Sure bb feels good with whats out there for LG if we didn’t want to go 6m for karras which is a very fair price imo

OK, I'm fine with the right side withe Onwenu, Brown, and Herron as the backup. Andrews is a fine starting center. Wynn is our LT. That makes 5.
Who are other FOUR?
===================
However,

1) As of now, Ferentz makes the 53, and will be Game Day active as the backup center.

2) Wynn is our 2022 LT. Any other choice is expensive. Besides, Belichick is fine with Wynn. Wynn could be extended since he is a free agent next year. This would save considerable cap space.
=========================
3) We need to acquire a starting LG.
4) Our current backups include Desjarlais, Hambright, Sherman, Durant, and Cajuste.
===========
So, for me, even in a best case, we I think that we need 2-3 additions. I'm fine with that with only 5 months left in free agency.

With who we have on the roster, what's your preferred line at this moment?

Trent Brown - Wynn/Lose - Andrews - Trey Smith* - Onwenu

* This is the pick Little Billy should've made last year instead of the Other Billy: Billy my boy Sherman... But if forced to choose somebody else then I'll choose Drew Dejarlais... Remember that RG is the easiest position of the 5 to plug 'n play; so even Little Billy should be able to find somebody there who can perform enough above replacement level...

Right, this is as of now that I feel fine, definitely still work to do but nothing that will require a big contract or high draft capital. I feel we have 4 starters im comfortable with. I like herron as a backup LT, RT not so much. Ferentz may be good depth, i only know he started a couple games last year out of necessity and from what I remember didn’t f up.

So we need one starter at g. Preferably some competition at backup rt and interior. Plus some of the returning prospects cajuste, durant, etc. I think itll be fine when all is said and done. Doesnt worry me like cb, dt lb

If anything I'm consistent. I've ALWAYS said you can rely on PFF for OL grades. Haters will say it's fake but I can't hear them way up here.

I think value is their plan A.

They didn't lose out on Karras. There's no evidence to believe if the Pats matched Cinci's offer he would have left.

They were never going to get into a bidding war for Collins. Bill was sniffing around.

The team decided Mason was not worth his cap and a replacement for Karras could be had for much less.

You may disagree with the strategy, but It's back to value

Left Tackle doesn't worry you? It should.

LT Pastry Chef (Wynn)
LG To be determined
C Golf Caddy (Andrews)
RG OneMenu
RT Brown

Here’s my advice: run to the right!

I would hope that the Canadian Desjarlais will claim the LG spot and Wynn/Herron are given a chance to prove they can be relied on at LT. I think it was the last Bills game where Herron started at left tackle and played well. However I understand @captain stone concerns as the left side could be shaky with Wynns injury history and Herron's proven consistency....maybe some cover from the draft would be wise just incase.

In any case, we need to draft an OT who can contribute as a starter or swing OT in 2023. Wynn won't be back.
