Player Signing Jabrill Peppers signs with N.E.

At this point we have:

CBs:
Butler
Mills
JJones
Mitchell
SloJuan
Wade

S:
McCourty
Phillips
Dugger
Peppers
Bledsoe
Bryant

At this point, what we have kinda Sucks.

The more and more I ponder this signing the more I like the chances that the coaches are going to push this guy into a position to succeed. Pretty sure many thought Adrian Phillips was a ho hum signing and he turned out to be very good for the team.

Every time I see/hear David Naughton I think of that stupid-ass horrible disco song, "Makin It".

I've considered therapy for it. <jk>

LOL. When our kids were early teens, one of them brought a Dr. Pepper to the dinner table. I jumped up, grabbed it and did a loud, over the top version of that ad, dancing around the room. Then gave it back to her and sat down as if nothing happened. To this day, they claim I owe them money for therapy because of that "trauma."

That ad was brutal.

David Naughton was everywhere in the early 80s.

IMO American Werewolf in London was actually a decent movie.

That's probably it for compensatory free agent signings. If Peppers earns some incentives, then it'll probably be worth offsetting the 6th from Karras. They're not going to sign another CFA (for as little as $2.5M) to offset Karras and then risk Peppers' incentives offsetting the 3rd from Jackson.

They can still sign players under about $2.5M per year or anybody who was released, and signings stop counting for the comp pick formula in a month. I suppose maybe Hightower could still sign elsewhere too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peppers doesn't count in the end (contract seems deliberately constructed under the threshold within NE expectations for Peppers)

Nick is doing a great job but Pats FO has advantage to know better if not exactly what counts in the end.

If they do sign another clear CFA (which i dont necessarily expect) i wouldn't worry about the 3rd comp - the track record says they know how to play this game..

for you that is a high compliment.

for you our 2021 defense really sucked, not just kinda.
Offseason optimism. Spring hopes and all that.
