Good player. He’ll have a chance to win but on a personal level it’s a strange choice, if he hopes to use this as a springboard for one last multi-year contract. I don’t see him getting many targets with Allen having many mouths to feed, unless they told him that they see him as a Beasley replacement.

Beane is a smart GM.

Have the Bills effectively moved on from Bates? They signed Rodger Saffold to play left guard, so I am not sure how much the Bills are planning to spend on Bates. Bates is not a great guard, but serviceable. Not sure why anyone would pay Karras a lot over Bates. The Bills liked Saffold over Bates.
