Hooman had 57 catches for 646 yards in his career.

Meyers had 83 catches for 866 yards just last season. And 59 for 720 the year before. Basically, two out of three seasons for Meyers have been better by themselves than Hooman's career. The two are not comparable.

He is a home grown, 80 catch almost 900yd WR who is very productive in this offense making $4m a year. Developing WRs isn't exactly a strength and people want to trade him?

If you want to trade him for a 2nd rd draft pick that historically has a 20% chance of being a starter in the NFL go for it.

This... Sure Meyers isn't the best WR and there are 2nd round picks who are much better but there are also many who are a lot worse. The draft is a risk, not all picks make it. With Meyers you've got a WR who has improved every year and could easily get 900 yards next year. That is worth somehing

No team signed JC jackson on a 2nd round tender either. He just signed a contract with 40m guaranteed over 2 years yet no team thought he was worth a 2nd round pick? so he isn't worth a 2n either i guess... or perhaps it's not a great way of measuring a players worth?

I believe as much as Belichick valued Jackson, he would have let him leave last year for a 2nd last year, rather than only getting a comp 3rd next year.
