No brainer. Dude was Mac's training wheels, basically. His catch rate was lower this year, but his "True Catch Rate" (per playerprofiler - removing uncatchable balls) remained the same from last year (90.8 to 89.2%).
That being said, he's got terrible top end speed (hasn't broken 19mph as a ball carrier so far), but Edelman didn't really have it either (never broke 20mph as a ball carrier since they started gathering the data in mid 2010s - he def did as a punt returner for sure early in his career). He's got it upstairs, though, which is why one of the "****roaches" (other being Gunner) is still around. Curious to see how year 2 with Mac (and year 4 overall) goes. After Edelman's 4th year, people here were thinking he might be a serviceable WR3 but more than likely no more than a WR4.
