Bengals took 2 years to rebuild and get to the supe bowl

Bills took 3 years to get to the AFC Championship game

But we have to wait until year 4 in 2023 for us to be a contender. And what's actually gonna change? Will the Bengals and Bills and Chargers go away?

Will other teams not rise up?

5 years ago the Bills drafted Tre White, Matt Milano, Dion Dawkins, 4 years ago Josh Allen, T Edmunds, Harrison Phillips, Taron johnson, Wyatt teller, 3 years ago Ed Oliver, Cody ford, Dawson Knox, etc.

It's been a 5 year process for them to get to this point.

And that's with drafting high in those years, top 10.

It's easier when you string 3 top 10 drafts in a row than picking 21st.

Why trade multiple first round picks for a player you aren't confident in enough to guarantee 4 years?

Deshaun Watson is a top 10 QB. But I think giving up 3 picks for him is crazy. Plus guaranting 4 years. Good on Carolina for not caving in. If it were Mahomes or Allen, then yeah sure. You give away 1st round picks up the Ying yang.

A $120M deal averaging $20M a year with a first year hit of only $6M means the later hits must be pretty gross.

But Shaq's cap was about $7.4M in 2022. Why would you trade him away for supposedly cap relief to turn around and sign an UDFA with little game experience for a higher cap hit? I doubt they would offer $6M apy. Bates is costing the Bills $2.4M now. I doubt BB would offer even double that.

All this talk about Kraft not wanting to dish out up front cash in the form of bonuses makes sense when you look at the Shaq trade. It was clearly used to free up cap space. I'm just not sure why they picked an OL guy to trade instead of guys like Anderson, Tavai & Godchaux. Probably no takers for those guys.

I honestly have no idea what the FO is doing.

Would be a fair question in that scenario. Could have been a situation where Bill anticipated contract issues in a year with Mason and moved on now for a pick, then uses the cap space gained to sign his replacement.

It’d be helpful if you could link the exact tweets. Some people got their blue check for a reason other than reporting on football news but try to do it anyway. Some lesser known reporters don’t have the blue checks but are still generally trustworthy.
