NFL Free Agency 2022 edition

Phillips to BUF. Another name connected to us off the board.

Amazing how these teams can afford all these guys.

how many QBs drafted started in their 1st or 2nd year.......let's just say since 1990.....at least 100?....since 1990 6 have made it to the SB in year2 (we'll eliminate pre salary cap marino from the conversation and add in burrow) .....those are not good odds
Where did you get 100 from?
If it were correct, that’s about 1/16.
That is the average, 1/16 starting QBs make the SB every year.

100 sounds pretty high, that would mean the average NFL team had more than 3.

Seems like the Rich got Richer in this FA and sisters of the poor Patriots got a lot poorer. We won't be SB contenders this year that's for sure.

It's hilarious that people put this all on Belichick... Ever think the Krafts just don't want to pay the money that it would take? Restructuring contracts to free up space means paying money NOW and then also paying FAs signing bonuses.

Kraft has always been a cheap f*^k
Converting salary to signing bonus doesn’t cost Kraft a nickel.

Market is now set at WR MVS or OBJ is next.
A lot can change in any given second, so just take this for what it is, which is what we have right now. I’d rather just stick it out with Agholor for another season if we can’t find a trade partner, and sign Paschal. Then we go into the draft and just look for BPA at the WR position. If one meets where they should on the board, grab em. If not, bring in some UDFA’s and roll with what we’ve got in yr. 2.

That seemed to work fine when we had TB12. Not sure it will work as well without a franchise QB or other established playmakers.
Brady gave us a high floor which guaranteed a playoff spot and a chance to click at the right time (2001, 2018) or have imperfect teams (2011, 2013) get in there and be a game or two away from winning it all. Then you had years like (2004, 2014, and 2016) where we were stacked and pulled it off. But we constantly got at bats and it evened things out for us.

That has to be Kraft, not Belichick. Belichick doesn't care about how much money the Pats' spend. He just gets a budget and he spends it the best he can. If there is a decision not to spend money, that is on the owner.

Yep Kraft is cheap.

Singing Jarvis Landry and trading for Robby Anderson would make up for losing Robinson.
No, it wouldn't.

Multiple teams are linked to Landry... not including the Patriots. The only people talking up Landry seem to be fans of the team.

There's not much happening on the Anderson front either, which isn't a bad thing, they can do better... if they do anything at all.
