Jags are in a position (though from a much worse starting place) that we were last offseason: Lots of cap space and lots of positions that had room to upgrade. Their approach is reflecting that. Plus, they REALLY can't afford to leave Lawrence out to dry for a second year if they want him to develop.

Should of never cut him.

1 year, $2.62 million for Slater.
Isn't that too high...?

I get the leadership part.. but when we are so starved of cap, don't understand this signing.

That's what I thought. Not sure what players who strictly play special teams make.

Team captain and best ST player on the team (and one of the very best in the league). And it's less than Jake Bailey is making.

Karras came in and really stabilized the line. Bummed to see him go. Would’ve liked to have brought him back and traded Mason. Get some solid picks and free up that cap space. I know Mason has been great, but we have a lot of needs. Finding a solid guard with a whole offseason to plan for it shouldn’t be too difficult. Then again, who knows anymore.
I rooted for Karras, he's a fellow Greek American, his uncle Alex was a legend, but while Karras did well at the point of attack and held his own, he was SSSSS LLLLL OOOOO WWWWWW anytime he pulled and he almost always was late to get there, giving a defender a free pass. We can do better.

No news on JC Jackson doesn't seem good for him. He's probably not getting what he wants.

I hate free agency

Great, hopefully Bill doesn’t make anymore mistakes.
This is similar to the Ty Law talks.
Ty said bill offered a amount on the phone he agreed to then when the contract was sent it was considerably less.
This reminds me of the TY Law fiasco. TY said bill promised a certain amount then when he met him to sign it it was considerably less.
Bill apologized and explained he really wanted him but couldn’t put the funds together that he thought he could.
