I like Andy Reid and would be very happy with him as HC (despite the past clock management issue) if we didn’t have BB.

But at some point, he needs to answer for a 3-6 conference championship game record to go along with his 1-2 Super Bowl record.

It says a lot that he has 9 appearances. But why has he not been able to put them over the top?

parcells had a short shelf life....he got the perfect storm in NY, with a great staff and the right mindeset of players.....beyond the Giants, he tended to wear thin with players in +/- 3 years.....he was great on the rebuilds because he was an excellent judge of talent......as a coach, he's overrated IMHO.....having BB as a DC all those years certainly made his legacy

Reid is 5th all time in wins. He's 21st all time in win % (13th among coaches with 100 total games). 3rd in playoff games. 4th in playoff wins. Tied for 9th in conference championship appearances. As long as he keeps caching with Mahomes as his QB, he is likely to move up all of these lists.

Why are we arguing this? Anyone who denies his status among the all time greats is blinded by homerism. It's the same disease that impacts all the people to ignorant to give Peyton Manning his due.

21st in win percentage is pretty telling......longevity counts for something, but......he's still outside the top 10 looking in

I don't think that anyone who consistently loses big games and makes dumb coaching decisions like Reid should ever sniff the top 10.

the thing about andy reid is he is "better than most" in his era, so he's stuck around a long time.....he's a solid coach who is building numbers on longevity (now, there has to be some degree of talent to earn longevity)......but in big games, we def talk about more games where reid had a negative effect on the outcome than positive.......in game decisions are still andy reid's hamartia

one could argue that a mike tomlin is an overall better coach than reid, just without the long term numbers

Top 10 isn’t even a consideration because there are at least 10 that there is no way you can put him ahead of.
After that he falls into the group if guys who are competitive consistently but fail at the ultimate level almost always.
Getting close is a participation trophy and a pat b the back but if you can’t finish you arent part of the best of the best.

But I don't think BB is losing an 18 point lead to the Bengals at Gillette Stadium. Especially in January.
