Semi-OT: Brady to Retire? (UPDATE: RETIRED)

I think he made an agreement with Giselle a few years back. 45 and I start enjoying my family.
He needs to enjoy his kids at this age. Pretty soon they will be at an age where it is not cool to be around your parents.
She gave him his due know it is time for him to keep his promise to them

I think he has said in the past that he wanted to play through his 45th year, so that would be through 2022. However, maybe Gisele is in his ear or maybe he's looking at the Bucs roster next year and wants out.

No idea if this is related in anyway to a potential Brady retirement, but the New England Patriots Youtube channel has posted three different videos about the Snow Bowl game in the last two days. If we keep seeing videos of big Brady games in the coming days, it could be a sign that they know something.

Or it could just be typical playoff nostalgia now that there's no active Pats games to post about. Regardless, enjoy watching a very young, Belichick, Brady, Brown, and Vinatieri talk about the end of that game:

it is surprising to me because just a few months ago he was talking of playing into his 50's.

if he was single I honestly think he may have. As crazy as it sounds

That's way less 4th qrtr comebacks if he leaves.

Truly the most entertaining QB to watch. Much more entertaining than Mahomes or other crazy athletes. This is a QB who threaded needles into tight coverage over the middle while making sure the receiver wouldn't get demolished. Always found the open zone. Always made the most out of what was often a little. That's the **** that makes you go "how in God's name does he keep doing this so consistently?"

I love the circus plays of Mahomes, but I'm sorry, seeing Hill pop off for a 80 yard burner is much less exciting than seeing someone methodically dismantle challenges infront of him, week in and week out.

Plz don't go.

brady is basically Montana with the gift of longevity

He will be remembered as a Pat with a weird little *Tampa asterisk.

I like to think of it as his "football vacation" :haha:

I think it’s more that we’re getting a blizzard in New England today, so the Pats are trying to capitalize on the nostalgia.

For some reason, this VERY simple explanation flew right over my head. Thank you!

So depressing to think this but I'm not sure that Brady wants to retire a patriot. I hope I am wrong as I would love to see him sign the one day deal but I think he also respects the bucs for what they did for him at the end of his career.

Must be terrible for you, only your second year as a Bucs fan and now you have to live with them losing for the rest of your life. I guess making that move was a bad idea for you. Have fun following the Bucs.

Most football players don’t do the contract for a day thing.
Yeah now that I think about it, I can't actually think of many instances of that happening. Seems like most players retire with active contracts which prevent these "1 day deals", unless the team releases their rights to that player, which they don't have any reason to do.

If he does he'll retire as a Buccaneer. He cut all ties with the organization. Why would he ever come back? Unless its for his number being retired and to shake hands with Kraft.

it is surprising to me because just a few months ago he was talking of playing into his 50's. An interesting thought though is does this change the narrative surrounding Bill's decision to let him go? we would be keeping brady for only 2 years with a subpar roster around him just delaying the rebuild as 2020 and 2021's rosters would've likely been less talented than what was trotted out.

looking back on it, seems like it has worked for both sides. Pats got to start the rebuild and hopefully found their QB of the future. and Brady got to play his last 2 years on a talented team rather than a rebuilding roster.
It was a mistake to let him go. Pats would have been contending for a title this year if Brady was here. BB would have also had a great shot at Shula’s record with Brady but now I’m not so sure he does. The rebuild had to happen sometime but it didn’t have to happen right away.

I just hope Mac is for real. If he is then all is well.

Why do you think he ended on such horrible terms? Yea he was miserable here and felt he deserved more but since he left he's made his feelings publicly known about BB and Bob which were positive.

If he does truly harbor serious issues with the NEP organization then he's being a bit duplicitous.
