Well, after tonight’s unfortunate thrashing, time to turn the page to the draft.

As of this moment, Pats will be assigned pick 21 in the 1st round, and it can’t get any later than that. Victories by the Steelers and Eagles could push it up to #19.

We have our own picks in rounds 1-4, traded our 5th-7th, but have 2 sevenths from trades with the Raiders and Texans. No compensatory picks projected per Overthecap, not a big surprise given last year’s spending spree. So 6 picks at this point.

It won't matter. Team went 1-4 in its last 5. And will go back to idiot crappy drafting when Eliot Wolf leaves. BB is the goat but old and team is on the decline with major cracks in the staff around him.

.

This team need young talent all over the place. Hard to know where to start with draft priorities at this point.

The positive is that the draft is missing the big blue chippers (which we wouldn't have a shot at anyway) but apparently has some good defensive depth.

The question will be can Uche, Perkins, McGrone, Wade, Bledsoe turn into anything? If not, we really are in trouble on D.

Jameson Williams could drop to us with his torn ACL...I know we have needs on defense but Jameson would make Mac very happy.

Come on man, I know last night’s game was a disaster, but no need to Debbie Downer the thread for those who are ready to turn the page. This organization won 6 SB in the last 20 years, I’d like to think they have some idea as to what they are doing. I can only imagine how you’d react each season if you were a Jets fan instead! :)

Sure it depends on FA but LB, WR or DL would be my choices.
If we cannot figure something out with JC Jackson then CB turns out to be the biggest priority.

I understand that it wasn’t the ending we all had hoped for but it seems like before the season we all projected for this team to be in a rebuild year and not contending for a title. But I’m somewhat optimistic that hopefully with the report of BB listening to the scouts in this past draft that we can hopefully follow it up with another good draft.

We also have the Rams #6 from Sony Michel trade. And may have our own #6 depending on the conditions of that stupid Isaiah Ford trade.

Maybe RB is the only position we dont need but then we were down to Boldon and JJ at one point. I always wonder if certain positions are best covered from FA and some from the Draft ? Who knows

Assuming White is gone and Bolden or JJ Taylor will take.over his duties, fully agree.

Tight End ???......Henry ok, then Smith ??....thought of by many as a bust , got to give him another year at least......then what..

Asiasi , Keene , La Cosse

I had hopes re Asiasi for this year but seems cemented to the bench. I keep getting told we are a 2 TE , run first offence, Well we are ok with the run but TE !!!

WR or LT in the first round, my opinion.

Mac never played with Williams. Played with Metchie & Bolden. I’d be happy with either.

Thanks - I had looked at a different website which didn’t include that trade.
Actually, reading whole site, it looks like I’m wrong on the 7th rounders too. Sorry about that.

Just rounds 1-4 and the Rams’ 6th, unless conditions weren’t met on certain picks. And we’re looking at pick 21 in the first round unless the Steelers can pull off the upset.

Pre combine, my top choices for the 1st round pick of the patriots.

nt - davis of Georgia. Absolute monster two down run stopper. Barmore and Davis make for the start of a scary good defensive line!

edge - hall of Houston. Capable of rushing the passer from inside or outside, more than capable of setting the edge in the running game.

cb - Gardner of cincy. Excellent press man corner. Not as stout in the running game as our typical corners and needs to prove his speed.

cb - elim of Florida. Great athlete. Capable in press man, cover man and zone. Great length, but can sink his hips. A little too handzy but bb can fix that.

wr olave of Ohio state. Great route runner. Good hands. Not much option route experience and needs to prove his speed.

lb lloyd of Utah. A weapon similar that can stop the run, cover, and rush the passer.
