NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION The Official Raiders @ Bengals Thread

not when SF played the Ravens...Goodell elevated Boger's crew which was 9th rated to work that game. One of the biggest travesties I've seen in my lifetime

I didn't know that...thanks.

Liked Burrow in College. He makes me nervous.
Go Raidas!
Heh

OT:
Which Pats team shows up tonight
we all wonder

Hope we get the very angry ones
This should help with that:

I don't think this really was the case here but you could make an argument that the defenders stopped defending when they heard the whistle.
Pats got screwed last year in KC when the refs blew the whistle and erased a big play from the Pats.

It’s always been if the refs blow the whistle whether it’s an accident or not, the play is dead. They goofed.

Imagine if pats got Mac Jones a receiver like chase

the "crews" that works the playoffs/ super bowl are "all star" crews - the top rated at their respective positions...

but yeah there were some questions whether or not Bolger was the highest rated ref... but the league backed his selection, and he got the game...

Refs are day dreaming. Another horrible call giving a timeout after the play was over.

He clearly called timeout before the snap.
You are correct. However, the refs didn’t see it and the ball was snapped without a whistle blowing it dead.

How is Boger allowed to officiate a playoff game? This is a disgrace.
He's absolutely horrible. I can't believe they allowed him to ref a playoff game after his conduct in the Steelers/Bears game.

Edit: Oops, wasn't that Corrente? Regardless, Boger is trash.

Achilles?

What happened with Corrente?

Therefore, if we're to blame anyone, it has to be Roger Goodell and the league—as usual.

This is not Boger's fault, because he and his crew did the best job as professional referees. And just as difficult as it is for players to maintain elite consistency on an annual basis, the same can be said for officials as well.

Boger, however, has only been an NFL ref since 2004, which is quite limited in experience compared to Mike Carey, Ed Hochuli, Jeff Triplette and Ron Winter. Now, obviously no experience can be acquired without having been given the opportunity to officiate the big game.

But Boger has yet to referee a conference championship game.

You would think that is a prerequisite for the Super Bowl, right? Not entirely.

Goodell FIXED that Super Bowl and Boger was the catspaw. END.Of.Story

What the heck just happened? New York dialed in and overruled the ref in real time so the team didn't have to challenge? What the hell is that? Why don't they do that all the time?

So glad they do replay assist now. So much faster. No accounability, but i've never seen them mess up one yet.
